Sounds fine to me, though I'm sure £2k will buy you a better shit beemer for drifting than it will a Merc, bearing in mind you'd also have to include an lsd in that price...
I say stroke of genius 😂

    1079 miles over 4 days.
Time for a well earned rest!
    First MPG check - 49.1mpg
Second - 43.57mpg (lots of winding roads and hills)
    Third - 45.49mpg.

Dominic pitched me his wonderfully naive plan on what to do next tonight....
Step 1. Sell both Rovers - end up with £800. 😂
Step 2. Buy modified Vw Golf gti.
Step 3. Make Golf standard and sell for £2k as people will pay more for a standard one.
Step 4. Use the £2k to buy a rwd manual car (Mercedes) that we can use for drifting etc.

    He's 8. He'll learn eventually. 😂

That's J-Car based stuff, and it's usually the power steering that they can't handle. We had a 9-3 cabriolet which survived this problem unscathed. I sold an Espero last year with a cracked bulkhead that someone had seen fit to use silicone sealant on. My old MoT tester remembers taking Esperos to bits for warranty repair to the bulkhead back in the day...

I can't remember which but one of the older GM floor plans was susceptible to cracks in the bulk head.
If you catch it early it's a simple patch that can be welded on for a repair, if not the entire bulkhead can split, and that's the car unusable.
It happened to my Saab 9-3 from the same era and was a common fault across that particular GM platform, though I'm not one hundred percent sure if it's relevant to yours, but it's well worth finding out.
It only happens on well used cars, so high milers or old cars.
Early signs are what looks like play in the front suspension or track rods or the steering rack, but actually it's tiny holes appearing in the bulk head where the steering rack is bolted in.
If your steering wheel rapidly goes out of alignment that could also be a sign.
The wise would just make sure it's not a potential issue on this car, and if it turns out to be, they would either be aware of the signs or look for evidence of a repair.

You ever had the feeling/longing that there's something missing from your life/fleet in terms of multiples of cylinders? 🤠
I've owned a straight-six, a v-six and even a flat-6, but never a V8. That will be resolved on Saturday, finally. Megatastic 800+ round trip collectsions too from central Scotland to somewhere caled, The Cotswolds? Sounds exotic as feck to me....  Do they have electricity and stuff there do you think?
    Is it Saturday yet??? 🤓

Had I caught a man stealing my car, no he was rescuing me!
On a BMW trip we stopped at Chipping Norton in a public car park to pick up another car in the party. My n-s rear indicator had been playing up so I decided to take the opportunity to have a look at it. I left the engine running so I did not flatten the battery and closed the door as there was a bit of drizzle. I cleaned the bulb holder contacts and I had a n-s rear indicator again. I shut the boot, then the Toad alarm decided to save a carjacking all doors should be locked with the engine running!
The Guys from the BMW specialist we were visiting came out to save me so I did make it to the ball.
The car sat idling for nearly 1 hour and held its temperature perfectly, I did look in through the window anxiously to see what the gauge was saying.

I'd call that a MK6 but the wheels are pretty common on later Escorts..?

The Merc, again, looking towards the showroom area. No car is for sale!

The showroom; SEAT Ibiza, SEAT 850 and a VW Passat B2

    Same cars as above.

I do have more but they are within my whatsapp folder. I have to dig for them.

I think the geordie accent is the best regional accent.  I also do not like hearing my own voice and always think it sounds really bad on recordings.

    Issues to report so far:
A new rattle from behind the dash, think it's the turbo heat shield...
A new squeak from the rear somewhere, perhaps a suspension bush..
A slight whinge from the passenger seat when doing 60+ on country roads 😂

I know it's of not much consequence for a car thread, but this week I've felt more chilled /less stressed than I have in a hell of a long time - years even.
Must be something in the air here...
