  1. Actually it's less of me collecting, rather I sit here and wait for a shitter to deliver and then I return him to the station, which is a good 45 or 50 mins away.
  2. It's that time of the month... The Patisserie breakfast isn't all for me. However, that fact remains that I'm logging my breakfast on social media, must be time to collect a car.
  3. So all fixed now with the 307. Plus new cam belt, water pump and gasket. Next: look at the grumbling wheel bearing. Then it will be good as new. And next, i have to collect my new car. Thats going to happen in the morning. I suppose this will become a collection thread in the morning.
  4. Well it looks like I'm buying a car tomorrow! Joy!
  5. So I borrowed Mother's car for logistics, going out with a friend and kids. Unfortunately it was sat at mine over night and in the morning the battery was flat and the computer said no to everything. Had to jump start with trusty Volvo 740 and it needed to sit charging for ½hour before the car push button start would do anything. Flipping moderns for you.
  6. That there is the next Russian president, for when the current one drops dead.
  7. Wife's 307 did a French! Oil leak lead to fan belt failure... Ended up being towed and waiting for a new fan belt, but there are a few things needing sorting soonish, oil leak, cam belt, and there's a very loud whirring noise that sounds a bit like an unhappy wheel bearing.
  8. Makes a change from a Citroën H van
  9. So further to Wifey's FTP last night, The oil leak it has had for ever has corroded the fan belt and it pinged off as she was arriving to work. Last night before driving she saw this And was told by the security who allegedly used to be a mechanic that it was nothing but debris caught on her axle. She made it an hour out of her one-and-a-quarter hour commute home before getting stranded on a busy roundabout. Managed to kangaroo the car off the roundabout with the very unhappy car into a car park and Autoaid came to tow. So an unscheduled day off today and an easy fix, but we are going to have to sort the oil leak!
  10. All the emogis are applicable here i think.
  11. To the tune of Woodie Guthrie 'Driving in my car' "The boost it goes a-whizz pish the boost it goes a-whizz pish when I'm drivin' in my car" I realise that might mean something else in different parts of the UK.
  12. So Wifey's Peugeot 307 has done a French and FTP on her way home from work. She's not sick in a nearby town awaiting recovery. Apparently all the lights have come on and the engine won't run properly.
  13. I couldn't even read it right, I thought the shop was called, well you know.
  14. A teenageboy neighbour came past and said 'phwoar' at my Volvo 740. Between him and his dad they have one working late 80s/ early 90s orange/red Scirocco and one parts donor, about which i told him 'phwoar', and that when i was his age I lusted after them. And still do as retro cool, of course.
  15. Well someone had to make the out-of-context quote. Something about bishops and choir boys. Anyway, if this bad-taste attempt at humour affects you please phone the police and a survivors support service near you.
  16. Remember Gelert, it wasn't the dog, there's a wolf behind you!
  17. I did something similar with an F reg Polo 1 litre. It was not legal, but it was funny.
  18. Have the electronicicals gone French on you?
  19. Normally the cool kids lower the front more than the rear for aero an tha If you're trying to look a bit Range Rover you're doing well.
  20. Tweed and twill. I've been meaning to wear this tweed jacket with the Volvo, now I feel proper and that. No occasion, just a band practice. Normally I dress like a sack of potatoes unless there's a reason, I think enjoying a tweed with the twill seats is reason enough.
