  1. Don't know yet, I'm hoping that it's just lack of long distance driving, though I don't know what that's suddenly become an issue after 9 months. But all the codes are oil deterioration and dpf codes, apart from a pre-existing boost code that's been there for ever.
  2. This will be my first too! Likewise I've met a few folks but nice to meet more. And nice to bring the kids camping and nice for it to be close to me of course.
  3. Please someone remind me what size socket i will need to undo the sump plug? I might have to buy the right one, I seem to remember neither me nor my neighbour having the right one. I'm having regen issues, of course now my oil is deteriorated and the car won't regen until it detects good oil, and will continue to pump diesel into the sump. The blue smoke trails are pretty though.
  4. Not sure if that's a laugh or cry emoji!
  5. Yes that's what I'm worried about. Fortunately she is very bad at actually buying a car herself. Her style is to tell me what she doesn't like and expect me to find the perfect one for her but refuses to engage with the process of telling me what she does want. I've pretty much said if she wants a Bini she's going to have to sort it out herself. I'm not sure if that's the best thing to do or not 😅
  6. So the wife has been browsing Mini estates, this worrying behaviour has been happening for a while now. I know we can't afford to buy a car now, (mostly because I have a bagpipe habit that might need looking at by a professional) so that's something. She has a perfectly good, if a bit oil-leaky Peugeot 307 that she's prejudiced agsinst for an unknown vague reason that doesn't make actual sense. How worried should I be?
  7. I'll remember to try not to run it dry then! Though these days £50 of fuel just about fills the reserve so its increasingly likely...
  8. How do you make a Mk4 Mondeo estate look small and trivial? Park it next to a friend-of-a-friend's Granada estate. Done.
  9. The original freshly sprayed according to the colour code actually looks quite nice, in my humble opinion... Yes I'd agree, get it painted in the original colour!
  10. I'll bring my bagpipes then 😁
  11. What's this, rally spec Escorts mk 1 and 2 everywhere, noise coming from the forest? Oh yes its a rally stage at Clocaenog!
  12. Boy,3 girl, 8. They're very friendly!
  13. I had a 150 bhp to 220bhp noobtune, it definitely makes for a nice drive for very little money!
  14. Looks like an artizan barista or pizza bar owner got creative with gaffer tape and a welder.

  16. So quick update: Volvo is serviced and flying. Mondeo has new rear drop links after the originals broke. Pug still had oil leak. Wifey complains that it lacks grip, its always understeering. When i test it by trying to get it to understeer and break grip it performs very well... Oh and the Mondeo now has a new reg number (actually it's old reg number) after i roffled the previous plate ...
  17. You need three bagpipes to get two of them, it's an ancient haggis hunter's secret.
  18. Wife: have you been away all week, up to Scotland in the Volvo, gallivanting around eating haggis, drinking whisky and playing bagpipes? Me: of course not dear, I promised I wouldn't do that again. I already told you, I've been having an affair all week with Emma from accounts, honest! Wife: (getting angry) I called your accounts office, there is no Emma! Open the boot! Me: really, there's no need for that, you probably got the wrong department... Wife: (very angry) Open it! Me: ok... Wife: ... Me: Oh oh, busted. I can explain...
  19. For Bub and for anyone else, i have a Mondeo that's basically a glamping pod on wheels, I can take my Volvo and kip under a tarp or a tent if the weather is foul. Anyone needing the Glampeo just meet me at mine, about an hour from Sunny Jims.
  20. Something like a garden umbrella or parasol. Either way for sticking in the hole of a garden table and sitting under it eating barbecue and sipping a tipple.
