Sadly I have to confess to owning one of the pickups, 35000 miles from new, aircon, non keepfit windows, leccy mirrors . have to say it goes well but a bit skittish on corners with no weight in it.

Wow 🤩 Wish this dropside was pez powered so i wouldn't have to drop trousers to run it in London.
I'm now of course wondering about engine swaps and not at all about ringing it onto pez plates.
I have one of these with 35000 on the clock, I believe that they were sent to a West country motorhome dealer and for some reason, it didn't happen and most of the chassis cabs were fitted with an alloy dropside, mine has factory aircon and front fogs and is still listed as a motorhome on the V5C presumably they were pregistered when new, incidently it absolutely flys as it is very light and a bit skittish at the rear.

Bought one of these in the same colour for £30 years ago along with Dat
sun 120 A, not 100 A or a 120y it was a very rare beast even then paid £30 for that too, wish I had the Datsun now!

Def, both, it has a steel tube frame, similar to first world war aircraft with a vinyl skin stretched over it, 350 cc two stroke engine in the rear, to go backwards you stop the engine and start it running in the opposite direction, so you have four forward gears and four reverse. Cable operated brakes front and rear.

The Mrs took her test in one of these, same colour AMU 414 H she passed first time! Might have been something to do with she fact that she was nearly 9 months pregnant and the examiner was terrified that she would go into labour any second and wanted out of the car!

Its a Munga it has a2 stroke engine.

Back in the mid eighties wifey person had the estate version in a fetching shade of bright blue, it was used as the school run bus and started on many freezing mornings with the starting handle which it still had, I seem to remember it being stored under the bonnet somewhere? Must say it never once failed to start or even thought about breaking down, it even carried on after being smacked in arse by an inattentive driver at a pelican crossing. Only got rid of for a rather smart? FSO estate in an equally fetching shade of orange.

A rare old thing indeed, and ace. I had an IZH Planeta combo, it had an earlier version of the same engine. It is indeed an ankle breaker, and in my case, ankle trapper as you needed to kick through the scaffolding attaching the sidecar - a problem with RHD fitted 'cars.
I found the only reliable way to start it was squirting some Easy Start down the air filter. If you got it wrong it would back firing spectacularly, sometimes so spectacularly that it would blow the baffles out. Good times.
I can't imagine how hard it must have been to try and fire up with a side car in the way, I also have a Planeta and a Jupiter 91 and 92 vintage respectively, I will see if I can drag them out and let you listen to the 2 stroke symphony. As you will know they aren't exactly lightweights and if they start to fall over it's best to let them go rather than being catapulted 10 feet into the air as you try and stop them.

Hello chaps , thought I would share the rebirth of an amazing piece of soviet two stroke bike shite with you, spent a fair bit of lockdown time, fitting a new loom, left and right switchgear, coil, voltage rectifier, indicator relay and repro rusky indicators. It is a rare old beast in the UK, IZH Springbok 350 single cylinder, ankle breaker to start and so tall that I have to stand on a milk crate to get on it........

Did anyone else have the misfortune of driving one of these round back in the day?
Mini pick up. Restoration project, lots of spare parts, comes with the trailer. | eBay
They were shitting awful.
Had one in the late seventies, I used to buy 10 "crossply remoulds for £2.50 a piece and wear them out in a fortnight ragging it round the local roundabouts...........

That’s exactly how I remember Silver Fox Metallic Cortinas, Corsairs and Zephyrs looking in the late 60’s early 70’s. The paint fell off within a couple of years.
Yes and Blue mink did the same....

Has anyone on here owned one of these? They seem like they could potentially be a-grade shite. £1650 makes this one of the cheaper MOT’d runners that I’ve seen
Eerm yes, sorry to say that it was grade one shite, bad earths everywhere, water everywhere, put me off fibreglass cars for ever ,the only good thing about it was the XR2 engine, sold the car after 2 weeks of misery. Although I imagine that they were pretty quick if they had the nissan turbo engine fitted?
Motorbike starter rollers
in AutoShite
Posted
Hi all, not sure if this is the right place to post this, but as a life long shiter on both two wheels and four I am sadly finding it more difficult to get some of my bike shite started, the old leg muscles ain't what they were and the risk of doing some damage (to me not the bike) is increasing. So would anyone here have or know of a roller starter set up for sale? Mains or battery I don't mind what it looks like as long as it works and my budget is limited, I don't mind travelling to collect. Thanks
