I probably will regret it at some point… but… I can now reinvest the money I would have spent on it (and the sale price) in something I can actually use now, and in moving some of the other projects (including whiteyugo) further forward.
I have agreed a sale… it isn’t sold yet, but SSTC. The good news is it will live on.
I’ve also agreed a purchase… but that’s for another day.

This nifty chap turned up (old one pictured)

So we've had new plugs, new coils (x2 - Still awaiting others to be in stock) , new injector and a new Airbag plug.
Checked everything was plugged in before refitting the inlet manifold, broke open the new gaskets, torqued down to spec, and ...
It fired straight into life 🥳, so decided to treat it to a new air filter, as I wasn't too sure when the last service was (Juley ?)

A quick trip around the block, and I could still hear a air leak - Can't be manifold as all gaskets are new here, but peaking beneath the throttle body, I found this

Rang up Peugeot/ Citroen dealer, and they basically said 'LOL NO', so unfortunately had to sleeve it, with some pipe. Refitted and no more unmetered air. The idle seemed to be much smoother now too.
So the next few days I put some miles on it, as I wanted to make sure all this work (and more) was worth it.

267 miles later, I can confirm it's a good car.
So with that in mind, it got MORE NEW STUFF

New brakes all round - discs, pads and shoes.

in REV news , she has assumed the position as they say!

front axle has been taken apart

and the old kingpin has been extracted

not sure if everything has been put back together with the new kingpin or if additional work is required, but hopefully it is plain sailing from here on out!

Today I have to say goodbye to my Dad.
I already miss not being able to show him my latest car purchase.

We didn't order a car to transport us to the Crematorium as I felt the 75 was a perfectly fitting vehicle. It was also the last car he took a ride in.
I have made sure that April is a packed month with 2 holidays and a new car to be attending to.

Is it still on finance? Might be worth giving the finance company a poke and mention the lackadaisical dealers and booking error on their part. I've known of them to 'encourage' the dealer to resolve the issue due to the fact that as you rightly say, you're paying your finance agreement but you don't have the vehicle to use.

    Well that didn’t go well!
On the way back from Flowers Farm the Sigma temp gauge started rise but as I was on a dual carriageway with no hard shoulder I carried on the 2 miles to the first layby. When I stopped there was steam wisping from under the bonnet.
The AA arrived and diagnosed a split water hose to the oil cooler. He had the right size hose and soon fitted a bit. Unfortunately when I went to restart the Sigma it simply pushed water out of the radiator and the diagnose was head gasket. He towed me to FoD on his dolly.
After all I have said about the service of Recovery firms the AA after a shaky start trying to contact them were great. The roadside patrol turned up in 40 mins was helpful and fixed the original problem. When that didn’t work he towed me to the FoD and then took the wheels I was carrying for @Flat4 and me home.
9/10 with the 1 point lost for the hard time trying to contact them 4 times, listening to all the spiel and press 1 for a long wait, 2 to be cut off..........

Never say never, whist I have no plans to sell it any time soon I know what I’m like with motor vehicles, I’m 23 and this is my 42nd, but I have always lusted over a Shad since I was a young girl, I used to collect these Bond cars and mags when I was about 8 and the Shadow was always my favourite, I promised myself I’d own a real one one day obviously believing it’d never happen so to actually own one now even a tatty one is still a huge novelty and puts such a huge grin on my face and all the while it does that I’m keeping it

Some quick pics of the Shad as promised, Mr WC already wants to take it out in Convoy with the Guy Arab when that’s back on the road so expect some Rolls and Bus action soon, I also took it to work this morning and managed to attract a crowd almost instantly mainly from my colleagues who were probably wondering if the CEO of First Bus had just showed up for a random Audit 😆
I’d like to give it a really good wash and detail very soon as it got absolutely filthy from the drive home yesterday
