  1. I am not sure tbh, in the lube chart it looks to be pointing to the end of the steering arm/ball joint or something along those lines, but then the work shop manual makes mention of a "steering swivel pin" is that another term for Kingpin? I admit im not entirely sure!
  2. I think once Duncan has sufficent behind the handle bar time in REV he will find them to be unnecessary! I am told that once you get used to the pitching and rolling inherent to a 3 wheeler, you can chuck a Model 70 about with quite a bit of vigour (shame this one was filmed on a potato that was then mashed through god knows what compression software) yeah sorry about the PM on Thursday, it was only after I sent it and started seeing NEC stuff fill my feed did I realise "oh yeah he is at the NEC this weekend!" thats interesting, the Model 70 is wholly an AC design, especially the parallelogram leading arm front suspension, so in theory you can blame AC for that, unless Invacar went rouge! but I note that in the grease chart there is no mention of greasing the kingpin although I note there is something that looks be pointing to the back of the hub saying "grease" perhaps that is referring to the kingpin? the one below "oil swivel pin", @Zelandeth does TPA have any grease points for her kingpin?
  3. I think what @Split_Pin is insinuating is that the battery is there to get you started, I mean its no good at starting the car, but it will surely get *you* going LOL or to put it another way, the white powder around the battery terminals is perhaps not lead oxide...
  4. @wuvvum quick random question, do you happen to have a picture of the Citroen Belphégor you used to own? I know there is one somewhere on the site but with the search function currently having issues, I cant find it its nothing* to do with this AC Acedes Mk15 at all...
  5. Oh what about that Leyland National that @Inspector Morose Super-charged with the blower off a Commer TS3? @Weird Car how much is a National these days?
  6. hmm, would something with a Detroit 2 Stroke, or Commer knocker count? go halves with @Zelandeth
  7. in REV news , she has assumed the position as they say! front axle has been taken apart and the old kingpin has been extracted not sure if everything has been put back together with the new kingpin or if additional work is required, but hopefully it is plain sailing from here on out!
  8. if we are including Mrs6c's choices, The Harper Mk6 has just a singular door the trailer I own that that was once an AC Model 64 (an Electric invalid Tricycle) is what im using to tick off "electric" box I admit that might be taking the urine somewhat, but hey enough of it is left that I was able to figure out its registration mark and attempt to apply for its logbook, so thats gotta count for something (sadly it did not survive long enough in vehicular form to make it onto the DVLA computer)
  9. Keyless entry Handle cranking start Automatic gearbox CVT gearbox Odd number of cylinders Boxer engine Air cooled engine Electric RWD Rear Engined Carburettor Odd number of doors Plastic windows No radio of any sort No belts in fitted rear seats Plastic / GRP bodypanels Sliding PASSENGER door Made by a manufacturer which no longer exists. Made before you were born Bought sight unseen Bought without even a photograph Collection included more than two trains Didn't make it home on it's first collection attempt Car had previously been off the road for five or more years Owned in part, as part of a convoluted shared ownership scheme edited the list to what I think I score, which I make to be 25 points, not bad going i'd say given I only own/have ever owned 2.25 cars LOL some of which have "features" that are not even on the list, like chain drive, no front brakes, hand controls, centre driving position, sliding windows, 2 stroke engine etc does that net me a few extra bonus points? LOL
  10. I see the RMOOA have announced the venue and date for Routemaster 70 I am hoping to be there, I was at Routemaster 60 and lost all my pictures of that event due to a hard drive failure, hopefully I can avoid repeating that this time! and hopefully finally find someone who can renew my RMOOA memembership, I tried emailing them some years back but they never responded to my email I am just a bit concerned about getting around, the last time it utterly broke me @Yoss do you (or any other shitters? ) have any plans to be there? would be good to know if familiar faces will be there, so I dont feel completely like a fish out of water LOL
  11. the Q plate scheme was introduced on the 1st of August 1983, along with Prefix plates and a bunch of other policy changes (for example imports and ex-army vehicles where from that point forward given plates according to the year of manufacturer not their date of registration with the DVLA) so the Morris Marina on an A Suffix plate is quite unusual, wearing the identity of an ital perhaps? (or is an Ital with a Marina front end?)
  12. you can find the Routemaster Transit and FX4 ones on youtube, or at least you could in the past I used to watch the Routemaster one quite regularly when I was young and have also seen the FX4 and Transit ones also
  13. badger them with another FOI the DVLA very much do record it, note the body type data field on your V5 its just the datasets that HML get their data from dont include it, but it can very much be requested by FOI, I saw one for Lambretta scooters, and there was at least 1 registered as a snow plough of all things!
  14. bugger! the Sigma really is being an awkward one aint it! glad you got recovered without too much trouble in the end tho
  15. Awesome! Brian looking sharp as always they are indeed, hence why they are so rare these days, they where OE fitment from the Invacar Mk12c and AC Acedes Mk14A, to sometime in the later part of the Model 70's production run (not yet nailed down exactly when they switched away, but for Invacar they where still present during the NVW-P block however gone by the TTW-R block I think) but they where so fragile/prone to getting broken that very few machines kept them for long, I would say based on anecdotal evidence that by the end of the 1970's, start of the 1980's most machines had replacement metal bodied equivalents fitted
  16. dont know if it was just a my-end DNS wobble or such, but just now autoshite.com was failing to resolve for me, just thought I would mention it just incase!
  17. glad to hear the old boat is still giving reliable service following on from my comment in @Zelandeth's thread on the miles his trabant has clocked up in just a year on the forum, I am curious do you know much/any millage history of the Chieftain? you have owned it coming up to 6(!) years now, so I have to wonder how many miles has it done in those 6 years and how does that milage compare to the 6 years before your ownership if you have the data to make such a comparison?
  18. I wonder how much the engine might benefit from a general tune up, I mean given its clearly previously fallen on hard times for quite some time, I have to wonder when was the last time someone actually gave the engine/carbs some proper TLC a proper tune? take it to @richykitchy for a bit of rolling-road fun
  19. I see the resualts are in, not gonna say anything as its not my MOT result to spoil so to speak LOL but I do want to say, I love the major jump in milage between the previous results and this years result 2007: 27,434 2023: 29,206 2024: 32,656 in one year alone on the forum, its done like twice the milage it had done in 16 years prior!
  20. what sort of issues plague the Euro 6 ones? is it just the converted ones or are the Euro 6 native ones also more troublesome? I know the Euro 6 native TX4's gained an enlargement of engine capacity to 2.8L over the 2.5 of the Euro 5 and older cabs, but power output remained the same, guessing because of the extra power penalty of Euro 6?
  21. it broke for me just now accessing a notification on the wanted black cab thread 8:24:10 and also just now trying to get to this thread at 8:24:35 or there abouts
