Alfaisti got a reaction from MiniMinorMk3 in Which one do you wish you kept?
Couple spring to mind, stock web photos but identical to what I owned, Sud was the best fun you could have with your clothes on, absolute blast, blew the engine and scrapped her in the end.
Races against RS31 Capris with the Fiat, really quick although brakes were marginal, this one caught fire when getting welded, engine was transplanted into a 1600TC and lived to terrorise the blue oval brigade once more.

Alfaisti got a reaction from stripped fred in That'll buff out....Or maybe not. Post your wreckage.
Loads of stories, no pics unfortunately as long time ago!! Brother driving to Stirling via Alloa in his Alfasud doing around 65 lost control on a sharp bend stuck it on it's side riding a dry stane dyke as the wall of death for added effect. He walked away with just a scratch on his hand, got £5 scrap for the car. I hit someone on a dark road driving my mates home in my Chevette, he came in through the window and rested on the dashboard, luckily only broke his leg had glass embedded in my knuckles, ambulance to hospital and police recovered car. Picked it up couple of weeks later full of water as fuzz hadn't protected it from rain, drove it 15 miles sans windscreen to get one fitted.

Alfaisti got a reaction from The Mighty Quinn in Cars that just vanished. No.1: Montego.
Had the light blue coloured MG Montego with red piping on a B plate around 1990, quite fast as I remember bugger to get tyres for as metric. Used to do the run from Newcastle upon Tyne home to Fife every weekend up the A1, well before the advent of speed cameras officer. Had 2 attempts at being stolen without success from Whitley Bay, 1st got the radio and my favourite U2 tapes, 2nd only managed to mangle ignition lock.
Died a death from the usual tin worm, and being uneconomical to repair.

Alfaisti got a reaction from Aston Martin in Toyota Corolla T-Sport FTP
So tonight i bought a 2003 Corolla, seller advised slight rattling noise when revving but car ran ok on test drive. Bought for the massive sum of £250 but on the way home the rattle became diesel loud and the car decided to stall at low speed, it also flattened it's battery without any alternator indication.
Anyone had any experience with the 1.8 VVTI engine or advise anywhere (cheap) in East Central Scotland that could have a look.
Disappointing thing as she's MOT;d till November and in not bad nick

I too own a 156 in 1.9JTD flavour, hence the username, had it for 6 years and had no major problems until this year where it needed welding on the subframe. It's windscreen washers have given up the ghost and i have a leak in the boot, so may be coming to the end of the road soon
