Not ambitious but probably the laziest scribbled trailer plate I’ve seen on the road…

Can't believe I've only just seen this. You've outdone yourself again here.

I remember being a passenger, mum driving, when we hit the back of one of these and wrote off our Corsa. The Tigra actually didn’t look too badly damaged. Would have been 2005 I think.
(there were extenuating circumstances that caused the incident, and nobody was hurt)

In slight defence of said garage, that piece of trim was actually broken off already when I got the car, possibly had been for some time
The belt - there was just a piece of cut off belt webbing, they said they couldn't get a correct Merc replacement (thinking now that's maybe because it would originally have been 3-point not lap? and maybe been changed if/when it was converted from 5 to 7 seats?) so I just bought a cheap generic lap belt from ebay and they put that on to do the MOT. In hindsight it'd probably have been easier to just remove the rear bench for the test...

Obviously its another one of these internet things
Tried to stay out of the original arguments here, but it is exactly this, yes. A forum is an 'internet thing', it's a community, it's not a market. The sale section is a small part of a much larger thing, and it's nothing like autotrader/facebook/gumtree/etc, not least because it's private, not public.
Anyway enough of all that, I've put a fiver in the kitty too, best of luck with the works everyone

CD changer responded to a sharp tap and has now spat out CDs and appears to be working
Oh sweet! If you wouldn't mind posting them back that would be much appreciated, that Fountains Of Wayne album especially is a cracker

When is an ML55 a sensible choice? 🤔 😀
This one would be very sensible if you had 5 or 6 kids and your school run also happened to be along a drag strip

It was Mr Wobbler's channel that led me here around the XM days.....16,500 posts l8r....
The briefest of mentions by @Sam Glover in Practical Classics was what got me here, in 2016 I think

That was a cracker. I always wanted them to follow up with a story about used car dealers in the '80s, the characters would have been perfect for that. I think the lead actor was accused of some unpleasantness with an actress, or something, which might have killed the whole thing. I could be wrong.
He was but then it was all dropped, it delayed them making the second series, difficult situation all round I suppose. Seems like they've decided not to do a third anyway though which is a shame.

Here's another one. This show was only a pilot, but is a funny, happy daft thing that I cannot recommend enough - https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00118tt
I meant to watch that Mammoth pilot before but clearly missed it, hopefully it'll come round again
A highlight of recent years for me is White Gold, 80s-set comedy series about double-glazing salesmen, there are some good cars in it too - https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p050hrdx - annoyingly it's gone off iplayer as they sold it to one of the streaming services, Netflix I think has it now

Saw this thread and had to check the big Merc, but it's disappointingly sensible
Top speed according to Parkers is 146mph, speedo goes to 160mph, if we assume most speedos overread by ~10% then it might actually be possible to hit the top
I am not going to find out
Not sure I like '1/1' for a full tank of fuel though when just '1' would be fine

For anyone that only looks at this section of the forum and not the other bits, this fine beast is now looking for a new home

Retrieved from garage this morning, very cold, driven it quite a bit today, confirmed heater works well so all good. Was reminded when going for an overtake on a country road just how quick it is from 30ish to 60ish, very fun.
Still not really sure what the keep/sell plan is now I've got a bit more money into it, but that decision can wait until after Christmas.

Spotted TH15 GUY last night parked up, a pale grey Porsche Panamera. Didn't see the owner though.
Plate worth more than car - I read a news article about local government spending earlier that mentioned Oxford Council own 'FC 1' and it's on a Nissan Leaf, they estimate the plate's worth ten times what the car is
