  1. Hello, This is MotorPunk, I am out of the office for a week now in order to indulge my 1970s F1 racing fantasy. If your call is urgent then tough shit.
  2. Lovely colour! MOT system says 25k miles and no MOT for 2 years.
  3. Coming back to this... I never found a Gamma Coupe, but wrote a meaty feature about them in the November 2023 edition of Classic Retro Modern magazine which, if this (and 205s, Kia Elans, Citroen C5s, Renault RX4s etc) takes your fancy, then please buy a copy here and help keep print alive; https://classicretromodern.com/product/pre-order-issue-25-retail-shop-cover-edition-now-on-sale-in-the-shops-on-1st-november-2023-free-pp-uk-only/
  4. Knackers. No reply from seller. Does anyone else have some retro ear defender / aviation headset I can scrounge, please?
  5. Ahem. Me. But these aren't made for the track.
  6. The show is done and the public will never see the footage which maimed Freddy, everyone who was there will have been legally wrapped up to keep schtum.
  7. That's bloody perfect! I should have guessed that Chapman uses aviation-spec headsets, I was searching for generic headphones. I've messaged the seller who is 200 bloody miles away, I hope I can get a response in time... thanks so much for the link
  8. * urgent help needed * (How do I change the title btw?) Yeah, I've had a year to prepare, and I'm off on Tuesday.... I urgently need to complete my Colin Chapman look. I have the hat, the yellow shirt, the moustache... I am desperate for a set of headphone as below to compete the look. Can't find anything even remotely close on eBay. Anyone got anything I can buy/scrounge/steal/rent? Please? My fellow team mates are nicely kitted out as Hill, Rindt, Hunt, etc.. anything I can get my hands on to complete the Chapman look would be great. Help!
  9. As I recall Buck Rogers was one one channel and Dukes on another, at the same time. I remember flicking between the two. Can we have an Airwolf thread, too? I always thought Knight Rider was shite even as a little kid, although I happily watched all of the ‘turbo boost’ jumps on YouTube recently, 45 odd mins of crap stunts, and bloody loved it. 😂
  10. Thank you so much! Worth c.£1.3 million, apparently! https://cars.bonhams.com/auction/26999/lot/211/the-ex-juan-augusto-malcolmargentina1928-maserati-tipo-26b-21-litre-sports-gran-premio-and-formule-libre-racing-two-seater-chassis-no-35/
  11. I don't know why they bother, honestly. They're chasing a shrinking audience and there are a thousand better, more genuine shows, on YouTube. They've got a tiny budget to make these things, no time, it's all so superficial.
  12. Good point on the 480, interesting parallel. Still, your car looks bloody awesome, regardless of what it's going to be worth.
  13. These will be worth megabucks, if they're not knackered. Look at crap like the XR3i and RS Turbos and how much they fetch. I'd chuck in 106 GTi, 306 of any sort (elegant design, so nice to drive), ZX Volcane, even stuff like plain Vectra SRis will be worth a bit, watching how Cav SRis have gone. Calibras surely gonna be worth a lot more. Working class aspirational stuff.
  14. I'd love an 800 of some sort, the Coupe is a beauty.
  15. I'd love to have watched this getting driven ! Lotus Excel on wet ice wearing what looks like old summer tyres! Mental!
  16. C30 T5 is a lovely thing, odd design, characterful engine, nice handling, I can see that being worth a (little) bit to someone in the future. Corrados have been 'future classics' for years already and are still peanuts. I'd still like one, mind.
  17. Only on a future version of Autoshite. Rovers, even good ones, are worth feck all. Look at the 75, 620, P6 etc, even SD1s seem undervalued to me (but not to normal people), I reckon.
  18. You could draw a Venn diagram covering 4 things; age (cars that today's middle class 40-50 yo's loved as kids and can now finally afford, 306GTi and so on), scarcity (cars that were unpopular new are massively appealing now, eg; Cit C6 etc), innovation (technical or styling, eg; BMW i3) and price trajectory (easy to justify buying that late Rover Mini knowing prices are going up). Anything like performance, motorsport heritage, kerb appeal etc are a bonus. Anything already expensive and/or too old to appeal to the people above will be harder to sell and not make as much sense. Bodystyles that will not be continued must be worth a look, big, posh estates, for example. Anyway, that's my formula. Anything Lotus is going mental.
  19. Some from a quick trip to the south of France and Italy. Not a single Monaco-plated wankermobile photo'd, because I had a lob-on after spotting this... And what is this? Smol lecky cars can be cool.. Wanted to save this poor thing. A few more oddities here - https://www.motorpunk.co.uk/out-and-about/car-spots-monaco-menton-san-remo-elsewhere-motorpunk-style/
  20. One week until we fly. I've actually got my own FIA-spec medium sized race suit now which confirms my fears that although I was once a medium, I am definitely a large. I own a pair of FIA-spec socks, too, and two pairs of skanky-smelling race gloves. I have the wardrobe of an F1 star! The car (pics later) is now BRG and looks, from a distance, vaguely like an old Lotus racer of some sort, with a 3D printed engine on the bootlid. Our Lotus theme extends to team members who will dress as famous characters from Hethel's past, including a John deLorean with a pair of fake eyebrows and a prosthetic chin made from a yoghurt put and glue. Details are important. Shitting myself a little bit, but also excited...
  21. Oh man. Why is it clamped? There’ll be a day, soon, when we’ll wonder what happened
