  1. The Peugeot 504 estate?
  2. Very nearly! Local power is off though, so something got hit somewhere...
  3. He was passionate about many aspects of the railway industry, as well as many other matters of transport, history and geography. Many heritage railways and other organisations owe him a huge debt of gratitude. The crew that looked after 19B is leading an initiative to set up the 'Darjeeling Tank Locomotive Trust' to buy the locomotive, base it at the Statfold Barn railway in the Midlands and continue Adrian's practice of maintaining it and taking it on tour, for the enjoyment and education of the wider public. More details of this can be found here and any support for it would be welcomed: https://www.darjeelingtank.org.uk/
  4. Fortunately, as I have a bit of his track already!
  5. Sorry to see this has happened. You may wish to report this fault back to said dealer and require them to address it at no cost to you? Seems a bit odd that the the car has suddenly developed* this significant fault within a few days of said dealer delivering it to your door...
  6. +1 for rebuilding it yourself if you can, with any machining perhaps the only job/s to farm out to others..
  7. Matt and Stellar have arrived safely at the FoD. Should be easier to find out what is amiss with it in daylight.
  8. It does run a tad rich. Really needs some adjustment to the carb. settings. It's still great, though
  9. Calling @RetroShite... isn't this up your way? If so, you could probably make something good of it...
  10. +1 for dashpot oil to prevent piston flutter. Other things to check are that both carb. pistons go up and down freely and cleanly and in synch, with each other when the throttle is opened. Also, check that the needles are of equal (and correct) sizes and are centred properly in the jets...
  11. It's a fig tree! Unusual to see one growing 'in the wild' if that is indeed where it was. The 'bulbs' are the figs themseves. If there is a decent summer with no late frost to come, then these should ripen to the point of being ready to eat.
  12. Maybe a scenic drive to Llandudno and a trip up the Great Orme? There's a 1902-vintage, cable -worked tramway to take you up to the summit... https://greatormetramway.co.uk/ or a cable car... https://www.visitconwy.org.uk/things-to-do/llandudno-cable-car-p277371 In Llandudno itself is Wales' longest pier... https://www.visitconwy.org.uk/things-to-do/heritage/llandudno-heritage and the Penyderyn distillery! https://www.penderyn.wales/ Then, on the road from Llanberis to Llandudno is another one! https://www.aberfallsdistillery.com/ There will be plenty of other things to see and do in the area, for sure.
  13. @stillOrange had/has one and got it restored in Poland. It looks lovely.
  14. They might get rinsed and returned!
  15. Good job you put a note out asking for four!
  16. I had a 1.8 as a daily driver for a few years and have a 2.0 now.
  17. Headlights would be RHD spec. even though car is LHD, if Japan export model...
  18. The lady at the counter and/or her system would appear to be incorrect. The Government website states "If you do not know when your vehicle was built, but it was first registered before 8 January 1983, you can still apply to stop paying vehicle tax." https://www.gov.uk/historic-vehicles/vehicles-exempt-from-vehicle-tax
  19. Presumably you did the honourable thing and had double rations?
  20. It is a 'bonny wee thing' as folk in Scotland might say. Interesting read, that Harper review. I see it mentions a dual control version having been produced and also that private vehicles were made, for customers in the UK and abroad. @barrettknows about this one already, I think, but a Harper Mk6 featured in the excellent Spanish film 'El Cochecito' ('The Little Coach'). lt is used as a two seater car in the film. Perhaps Harper made two seat versions for foreign markets. A snippet from the film, featuring the Harper and lots of other invalid carriages / cars of various types (probably unknown in the UK) is here: The film is worth finding,. It came out in 1960 and is a cunning, witty and satirical black comedy, that pokes at the social attitudes and politics of Spain at that time. Its original ending was banned in Franco's Spain, so an alternative ending was filmed for domestic audiences. The original version of the film was distributed outside Spain, so both versions can be found. Without revealing the actual plot on here, a couple of reviews of the film can be found here for those who don't mind about Spoilers! https://moviesteve.com/review-cochecito-wheelchair/ https://www.closeupfilmcentre.com/film_programmes/2019/pere-portabella/el-cochecito/
