  1. A lot of people saying the allegro was not a rust bucket. Well my one was. It was a 1975 car which my uncle had from new, and I inherited it in 1981 as my 1st car when I was 18. It had been kept garages all its life. The front wings were rotten, the scuttle panel was rotten and the floor needed welding at 7 years old. However it was only a 1.1 base and was actually quite fun. The only breakdown I had was a broken differential caused by trying a rolling back burn out. I do have a soft spot for them. 2. My worst is a toss up between a citroen c2 VR 1.6 sensodrive and a merc a class diesel CVT. The c2 had the most comprehensive service history I have ever seen, with bills and receipts for everything, one owner and about 80k covered. The gearbox was shit, slow, unresponsive and jerky, and shit itself in a few months costing over a grand to "fix" and it was as slow and jerky after that. Sold for a massive loss and I saw it for sale for £200 a few months later, with a fucked gearbox. The a class was a mistake buying it, there was defects when bought, and the CVT box was fucked. Sold to arnold clark on their +£500 promotion so I only lost a few hundred instead of scrapping it for £50 was all I got offered. I saw it for sale as a good runner a couple months later on a back st bomb site for £1500 lol Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk
  3. The cavalier is pretty much the exact cav I would love to own. I love these cars, I had a sportshatch and then a 4 door back in the day. Once you have this fettled into a fine example and are moving it on I would be very interested in it if its affordable for me. Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk
  4. Theres only one thing to say about it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,its gone all French! Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk
  5. Yep. Just fill in the form online and you will get a price. They will then phone you to confirm and arrange pick up. Couldn't be easier! Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk
  6. I think the millesium is basically the same as the sportium, maybe without the tinted windows. That car was a good car, I used it for a while for takeaway deliveries, it was perfect for that. I thought it had vastly more than 105k on it. The body would actually be ok with the sticker bombs pulled off and properly cleaned. Both bumpers fucked though, the front subframe fucked and the last time I saw underneath it before its last mot the entire underside was rusty. The inside is all there but absolutely stinks and mouldy. I had a little laugh when I saw the projected retail price. My thoughts were get a clean base one and give it the sportiums identity............................. Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk
  7. Well the 107 maybe is not going to be been cans. It's on copart whitburn auction site, auction running for 6 days. There is now a battery connected, and engine seems to be running with the eml on, and mileage showing 105k. I thought it was a lot more than that. I'm not registered with copart so cant put a watch on it. Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk
  8. So as reported elsewhere sons 107 is off th copart. 12 plate, abused, lots of issues, millions of miles so took the easy option. That's me down to my two vag motors and a caravan. Caravan is available for hire, if anyone wanted it for up here in ne Scotland. Can be self tow or I can site it for you for fuel costs. Fuel costs might be £5236 the way things are going [emoji23][emoji23] Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk
  9. At the moment he is going about in an older, rustier golf TDI, with the pd130 which is modded to a bit more than 130. No wonder he wasnt interested in the 68bhp 107! Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk
  10. Daughters c1 is 2 years older, but only done about 50k and been looked after. It was looking a bit scabby cos it had lost its wheel trims and the wheels were rusty and needed 2 tyres. The 107 was a sportium so had alloys as standard and son had put two new uniroyals on just before it broke and the others weren't very old either. So daughters one now decently shod and looking better too. Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk
  11. My sons abused, fucked 107 has been littering my drive for about 10 months. It was bought at 2 years old, it's a 12 plate. It's been thrashed, bashed generally bad used but serviced every 10k. It put a conrod through the engine, got re engined with a 13k ebay breaker engine, and a new clutch. He did about another 20k then clutch went. That's when it got abandoned at mine. He took the box out and fount the release bearing goosed. Replaced it, put box back in but never finished it. So it was left on axle stands needing clutch cable connected, battery tray, fuse box and battery replaced and wheels refitted. On the meantime mot expired. I'm not fit now to do these things myself so he got a 4 week warning 4 weeks ago, get it fixed or moved or I scrap it. His answer, I don't care do what you want. So I get son in law to have a look at it. Says it needs discs and pads, brake pipes, subframe welded, couple ball joints, driveshaft boot, prob back breaks too as well as the other stuff to get going. My daughter has a c1 needing two tyres so I told Dan to take shauns alloys and put on the rusty wheels bald tyres on the 107. Contacted a few scrappies and best offer was £50! Did a cartakeback quote, they offered £401 and they picked it up. So it's off to copart Edinburgh to get done whatever they will do for it. Be sold on a copart auction I expect or be stripped and bean tins I do feel a bit bad scrapping a 10 year old 107 though. Sent from my SM-A125F using Tapatalk
  12. My bet is she will not contact you again. Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk

  14. Well my mission to make space on my drive continues. Today I sold my trailer. I wish selling cars was so easy. Put on facebook marketplace and gumtree about 10pm last night, 1st reply 10am today saying he was coming to get it. I thought righto, heres the 1st timewaster. Nope! He was here by 12, asked 200 off the price, I counter offered split the difference, he handed over the cash, hooked it onto his car and left. It was priced at a fair price compared to similar trailers I've seen recently, I wish cars were that easily sold! I have one more car sized item to get rid of out of my sight and that is my sons wrecked 107. It's been sitting at mine for months, the gearbox been out and new clutch fitted, it needs new discs and pads fitted, the battery tray and battery refitted then gone. He is not showing any interest in it, ive just done a car take back on it and offered £401 for it as is. I'm very close to accepting that and getting rid. Otherwise I will finish it off and sell it, but that's hassle. May take the easy option. Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk
  15. When I was at Hays of Huntly in 2004 our oldest was an old duple with Ford mechanics. It was 1977 registered and was fondly referred to as old Henry. It was a bugger to drive, there was gears in there somewhere. I was the only one who didn't moan about driving it so got it most of the time for my school run. Sent from my SM-A125F using Tapatalk
  16. I like the 3 spokes on that car. Would that be the factory alloys for a 323? Nice job getting the grot cut out. Sent from my SM-A125F using Tapatalk
  17. Theres not much wrong with the 1.6 tdi. I've had two seat Leon's and a vw caddy, the daughter a leon also the 1.6tdi. 1st leon written off, second one now a pizza delivery car now at 110k, I sold it at 72k it's not been serviced since and gets thrashed and had more hits than the Beatles but still driving well. No breakdowns or problems with any of them, although my current caddy is a bit flat under 2000 revs, which a remap has helped but not cured. It's done 124k though and is 100% reliable. 18. When we had 1st child I had a 3door astra and wanted a 5 door car, thought I fancied an escort. One at local place, went for a test drive, it drove ok for its 3 years old and 42000 miles. Found the service book which was stamped right up to a matter of weeks before, at 96000! It was due its first test so I suppose the service book got lost before it got tested and sold. The other local place had two escorts, a red a reg and a blue b reg, just 2 months difference in age, similar miles, both service books present and seemed genuine, £200 difference in price. I bought the red one after a test drive. It turned out that above 60mph the thing was near impossible to steer. Went back to garage they said it was because of the remould on the front. Two new tyres later, which I paid for it was as bad. I said right take it back and I'll give you the 200 extra and I'll have the blue one which they still had. He said no, give me a grand and the red one and you can get the blue. I didn't do that. By this time the reg document arrived, found the previous owners phone number and called him. The last time he saw the car it had a tree embedded in the passengers side and he was surprised it was back on the road. So it got traded in elsewhere for a b reg cavalier, which is what I should in the first place as I was a vauxhall fan boy then! Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk
  19. Surely only a tight git would buy these Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk
  20. You must be madder than I am! I delivered my 205 from Macduff to Sunderland a few weeks ago. That must have been a walk in the park at 275 miles there. I came back with an empty trailer as I was on a mission to make space. Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk
  21. I had a 1994 nissan serena people carrier which was basically one of these vans. It was a 1.6 petrol and took all types of abuse including towing a giant size elddis crusader superstorm twin axle caravan whilst loaded with me, wife, mother in law and 3 kids. I actually thought it was a great vehicle. Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk
  22. Have you a pic or link? I've somehow managed to lose one of my 16" seat leon alloys, looking for one the same to put onto my caddy. Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk
  23. The 205 is gone to a new home, where it is going to be restored properly. It was 570 miles of driving for me, towing the trailer with the yeti. It, and me coped well with the journey, used £160 worth of diesel. The caddy is running well, it has a new timing belt on it and been remapped. I haven't done a mpg check yet, but it certainly feels a bit happier, although it still feels a bit of turbo lag under 2000 revs. In other car news my daughter has upgraded her car. I did ask why she felt the need to change, her car was a 2015 seat leon 1.6tdi estate which had done under 50k, looked after and really good condition, when she bought it she was doing 20k a year, but changed her job soon after that and only did 25k in 4 years! She has gone for another leon estate, a 2019 1.5tsi petrol. It's a nicer trim then the 2015 car was, being the fr rather than base. I emptied my playing with cars budget to help her with the extortionate cost of buying said car, although it was over 2 grand less at a seat main dealer than any that arnold clark had, and as an approved used seat has 2 years servicing, mot and warranty. Arnold would have added on another grand for all that. Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk
  24. I dislike the current trend of cars being black or white and every shade of grey/silver inbetween. Says the man with a white van and a white car haha. I would much rather they were a vibrant colour. One of the best colours I ever owned was an audi a4 in paradise green. Loved it and only sold it as it was auto and had a daughter wanting to learn to drive. Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk
  25. The 205gti we bought 8 years ago was to be a forever car until it went missing. It's back here now but I will never be able to finish it. A deposit and delivery charge has been paid, and I'm tailoring it to Sunderland next wednesday. Its disappointing but it's better going somewhere where it's going to get sorted then used rather than rusting in peace in my garden 200 yards from the north sea. Sent from my SM-T585 using Tapatalk
