    Ha, ha, ha. Many a small operator has fitted a ticket machine on the top of the engine cover to use such things for one man. The difficult bit was the doors, either a mechanical arm / handle or even a piece of rope. Ask me how I know.

     

    Don't also forget Ford offered their R192 or R226 (both front engined) with Plaxton Derwent bus body for one man operation.

    Hate Nationals that I do, it was a lot, lot easier for a shift than a crash box Leopard on local services, and South Yorkshire is hardly flat.

    Aaarrhhh, the sound of that V6 engine, screaming away in the back of a Roadliner was something to behold. I was lucky, Chesterfield had some (never got to drive one), but travelled on many, and travelled on Bournemouth's (on loan to LCBS),  and.. 

     

    Stay still my beating heart !!!

     

    The re-engined ones with the Perkins V8 may have been more reliable but....

    PROVIDED you don't spam every thread at every opportunity with things about Invacars like you have done in the past (as you know Dez, I've helped you with some things and my grandfather had one). Bare this in mind when you comment on other people's threads !

    It has an actual functional (new) throttle and choke.

    It has a partially unseized distributor. I'm reluctant to attempt to remove it in case it breaks..

    It's appropriately tuned.

    It starts as it should.

    The braking system functions correctly, fluid was changed and cylinders filed to function on floating backplate. 

    It stops, as well as they can. 

    The throttle cables routing now should be ok and not likely to stick on (saved by previous  hugely sticking brake system I suspect).

    The lethal fuel pump and pipework is mostly (as much as it can be) removed and restored to original fuel pump (mechanical).

    I have emptied the engine cowl as much as possible of the nuts? that were blocking fins.

    The Heinz 57 carb now functions and doesn't leak. It also has working accelerator pump.

    I will check it starts as per Monday.

    I will check front wheel bearing/kingpin play.

    I will refit rest of throttle assembly and attempt to repair the slightly butchered column switch assembly (I suspect it has been switched sides or off another vehicle).

    I will (correctly) refit ignition barrel after checking wiring repair still functions.

    What's that then, about a grands worth of just labour?

    The top one isn't a Pegaso. It has an AEC style badge on the front and appears to be Portuguese registered. I'd therefore guess it's a UTIC chassis as UTIC assembled AEC chassis's in Portugal under licence.and used a modified AEC badge. Bodywork is possibly Caetano or Ayates 

     

    EDIT, web pic says Ayats bodied Pegaso, ha, ha. Look closely at the destination display and the manufacturers badge is either side of it. Whilst it's not that clear, I'd say that says "Salvador" to the left of the display and "Caetano" to the right.

    No, the ones that came back were from Prince Edward Island, off Newfoundland.

    Those RTs are mechanically heavily modified. They had petrol then gas engines, think one might even be battery powered now.

    Would have expected the reg to start with Y (Yorkshire) not V (Worcester ) if it came from Eric. Wonder if you can even get a starter motor for one.

     

    EDIT, ECP and GSF say no for the starter motor but there's one on eBay for £185 if there's any brave shiters out there.
