My searchings around Basildon today were not entirely fruitless. Renault 5 from Sainsbury's Porsche from Poundland And some more Hot Wheels from both Entertainer and Lidl
-
Anyway from big Volkswagens to small, my birthday present from the Mrs arrived An original Johnny Lightning Bug Bomb. I've had a saved search on eBay for years looking for one but they're always in America and the postage is prohibitive. Now I need to find my Hot Wheels Evil Weevil and Corgi VW Hod Rod for comparison

I do get the nagging feeling that may be the case - when new Hot Wheels/Matchbox turn up, all the ones us adult collectors want get bought immediately then the rest seem to just gather dust. Anyway, someone's kid decided they didn't want this so it ended up in that charity shop Yeah it's plastic but the effort to make it accurate is applaudable. The sticker was still on it holding the sliding door and right front door closed, plastic strips are still holding the surfboards on the roof. It can go with the T3 I bought in Germany . The steering is an oddity. It's clearly designed to work but is locked by a tab cast into the chassis. Doesn't seem to be any way of removing it With the front suspension removed it moves freely

BuM Home Bargains Actual cars in a charity shop Lol price And another pillaged box of Hot Wheels in Lidl. Now I'm off home to recover
-
Entertainer have the new case I found on Wednesday but with a few extras I'd not found More 1:43s, not too fussed about these but at least there are real cars in the range now Also just realised looking at the pic the deal has changed, used to be 3 for 2 - there's me picking up multiples of three Poundland have the mix of Matchbox Datsuncog recently found
-
The Range had these near the till Asda not looking too bad Even had more of the new premiums - no Skyline though

Tesco's is fairly rubbish B&M had nothing new Lidl have some right at the bottom of the box At a bargain price!
-
Doing a bit of hunting today. Matalan had older stuff Sainsbury's had some Majorettes Including two full sets of these
-
I didn't know there was an offer, there was no price advertised. Might have grabbed a couple more to sell on if I'd known
-
Glad I stopped at that Lidl today, as my local one has absolutely naff all This one's difficult to photograph due to an odd shaped blister Audi is lovely. Hopefully a white one will emerge Picked these up in Sainsbury's Good to see some basic cars in the range, I think Mattel did the Honda E better though

Seen a few good'uns lately but I'm leaving my phone in it's holder while at the wheel. Dutch reg COSTA was memorable though
-
Yeah absolutely. I know they're supposed to be the same car but there's too much in common, the interiors look exactly the same bar colour. I've got a Corgi I customised so it'd be easy enough to lay the parts out side by side
-
Cars you didn't know existed until very recently.

Closest I can think of is a 1939 Auto Union, don't think they're would have been many here especially in 1939
-
Well that's convenient, the one I want is in the display case. They are strikingly similar, even the bases have some commonality
-
I want to line it up with the larger Corgi version when I can dig one out
-
A while back I mentioned the larger Hot Wheels that are now available in a few different scales, but they were mostly Mattel's own creations rather than licensed castings. Well I found one today I'd not seen before And I just happened to have its little brother handy in the to-be-customised box
-
Lots of nice new releases in the Hot Wheels case Good to see this out as an affordable mainline, ripe for customising As is this Think this will be popular with Porsche owners
-
I think they've been mentioned on here before but I've never seen a set. Odd that they made two sizes smaller than a Superfast rather than a Superking, Superfast and then a smaller one to make up the three

Gone into Saafend for the day. There's a toy shop! And next door a craft shop with various model kits

Thanks ^ got some goodies in the post via a slightly convoluted deal involving @RichardK and @2110, as the former listed a bunch of partwork cars which the latter bought before I'd spotted these among them. Luckily a deal was agreed and they arrived while I was out working yesterday The Mrs has also bought me one I've been hunting for for quite a long time, ETA tomorrow...
