I've had a lot of interest..please bear with me. I am at the moment, embroiled in a lot personally and work is hectic and extremely intrusive so I am struggling to be free.
Sincerest apologies to those to whom I have been slow to reply.

Family. Politics
The 2 don't mix. As stated earlier father Sims agreed to purchase this but gave me the ebay WINRAR bidder treatment...
*Sigh*
Anyway. This fine steed NEEDS a loving home. I had intended it to be mine forever, however, the chance to own a true bucket list car for me was too good to resist. So with regret this is for sale. In dark blue, 5 speed manual 110bhp AFN flavour. No sensitive PD stuff, good old durable AFN
112k, FSH, and runs beautifully. A testament to Burnsides grandfather to whom it belonged, it has been maintained to within an inch of it's life. No rust, no major dings, no worries.
Has had very recent: cambelt/waterpump, aux belts, 4 new Goodyear tyres/alignment, and a load of other stuff.
In my ownership I've done a few things to freshen it up. Demisted headlamps, new wiper arms, dealer plates, EGR blanked and removed, new gear gaitor, and JUST TODAY new brake fluid reservoir and brake fluid (common problem, reservoir cracks open due to positioning). Has 2 keys (if you're turned on by that) and a HBOL. Also adjusted clutch and drives bang on.
I am selling it a little more than I paid, but still less what it owes me. I have a habit of making losses
No clunks, no smoking no nothing. This car will see you through. I very much doubt you could find one as smooth and well cared for.
Based in Cradley (West Midlands)
Will get pictures up when I get it back off my mechanic later for the brake fluid reservoir job.

I've had 2 VAG products (not counting the current). Engines are generally ok, although I found the PD are so sensitive if a past owner mistakenly had used non PD oil. The biggest issue has been bolts and the suspension set up. Jesus the amount of seized/rusty bolts and joints is absurd. I've had older cars with less issues like this. It's inherent to VAG of this era it seems.
Oh and door lock vacuum pumps. Shite

Just a heads up to help anyone else needing parts or considering!
Doing the usual comparison for service parts etc as the Passat needs a full service plus anti roll bar links, and a message popped up in their "live chat" offering me 60% off.
Code is GSF60, assuming it is valid just for today.
Got a screaming bargain - all filters, a sump plug, 2 anti roll bar bushes, 2 anti roll bar links (all better quality stuff) £52 delivered. Chuffed with that. Already have a 5l bottle of Unipart oil from Home B's a few weeks ago too.

I have owned a MK1 that was absolutely mint. Only thing I didn't like was the seats/driving position, it was bolt upright and I hated it. Otherwise, a superb chassis and great engines and interiors. I really do regret selling it. I find gems and then inexplicably move them on at a loss.

Someone get this bought. An absolute peach for the money, it deserves better. I've messaged as many people as I can fathom whom might be interested or know someone. This has to live.
