  1. Superb cars. When taxi Paul initially had this for sale it convinced me to find my one that I've just recently sold. Best car I ever had.
  2. Collected this today and drove it back in the rush hour. What an absolute peach of a car. It is really a testament to the old school high attention to detail exhibited by Michael's grandfather. Really can't stress how brilliant Michael has been with this as well. Top man. This place! No collection photos as I was totally exhausted from work and wanted to get home.
  3. Mine has been a cheeky sod last few days. I turned my back for literally 10 seconds, and he was happily digging his nose into my fresh cup of tea. Turd
  4. My sentiments echo a lot of what others have said. I never had the pleasure of meeting with him, but, via this forum and his contributions, I sincerely found his vigour for the minute details of vehicles enjoyable. You were a kindred spirit, and I hope you found peace.
  5. Appreciate all the kind comments. This is potentially sold, pending Burnside getting in touch with me and giving me the go ahead for the Passat. A chap came and fell in love immediately, and confirmed the potential sale with me earlier.
  6. Forgot to mention, has I think 9 months of MOT left too.
  7. Don't understand what you mean there? Thank you though. Want it to find a caring home
  8. I've been considering this a while, but I do need something with a larger boot, and a diesel I think for my commutes as I am dividing my time more so with visiting family down south frequently. Think I have most likely secured what I want on here as it stands as well. I bought this only a few months ago. To me, they're rare in this guise, and I was blown away with how good this car had been kept. Granted it's not for everyone, but, it is a period where Toyota in my mind got it all right. It has the largest history file I have ever encountered. Numerous bills/stamps from Toyota dealers and specialists. It was kept mostly garaged all it's life, and the previous owners were all from the same family. I know this as when I picked it up, they all wanted to say goodbye to it, which I loved. Just rolled onto 77,000 miles. In all my tat owning years, this has been my favourite car. It drives perfectly. Gearbox is light, engine revs and pulls, and is "sewing machine" quiet. Idles well, does not use a single drop of oil/water. The engine bay is dry and incredibly kept. The bodywork, near immaculate. The only "negatives" are the roof has some lacquer thinning/peel, and slight scuff to the rear bumper, which is only noticeable if you look for it. There is zero rust, which is remarkable. When I was having the tyres done I made a point to get under it, and it's superb. Puts a lot of "modern" cars to shame. Bodywork is really, a credit to the previous family. Interior also, is to use the cliche, "timewarp". I want this to go to a good home and I know on this parish, it will hopefully find someone directly or indirectly. I get attached to cars and spend without restriction, and this one more than most, and I have cherished it. I've done the following: Full service (oil/filter and sump plug, air, NGK plugs), new NSF caliper and brake fluid, genuine Toyota rocker gasket/grommets, genuine Toyota PCV valve and grommet, 4 Goodyear Efficientgrip tyres, pair of new number plates from Motorline Toyota, and Bosch wipers all round. Also, 2 new window regulators/motors for both front windows (I broke these like a moron due to the icy weather). I also lubricated every joint, every door, every area I could. It's the 4A-FE engine, which many of you know well. Non interference, and cambelt has been changed albeit a few years ago, but the interim mileage has stayed low. I got my mechanic to have a look and he said it was in good condition. All the electrics work perfectly. It has 3 keys, and at some point the driver side was changed by Toyota and an individual key is provided for the driver. This thing will provide endless years of reliable trouble free motoring. I'd like £700. It's priced higher elsewhere, but shiters discount applied.
  9. Good god. There's clearly a reason why.
  10. They're trying REALLY hard you know!
  11. Fair point! I assumed it would automatically allow you to change it somehow via its high techness.
  12. No Paul, if you've got the green new keeper supplement, you can tax it immediately using the online gov service https://vehicletax.service.gov.uk
  13. Yeah I'm dead serious about it too. The AFN engine is great and I could use the practicality of an estate too. PM'd with my details for whenever it becomes available chap
  14. If you did buy/sell it, I'd snap your arm off immediately for it. No messing. I've had a massive soft spot for the older Passat's.
  15. The amount of money I've lost with my numerous tat over the years I could have purchased at least 3 "decent" cars. Pah. Where's the fun in that?!
  16. Love these Paul. I was looking for some before I found my gem of a Corolla. There's something so comfortingly reliable about them. Smart purchase, needs some OEM wheel trims!
  17. Currently running my beautiful Corolla though... I'm going to start doing some maths now. I'd love this to smoke around in. Would make me feel like an old school traffic cop!
  18. I want this. I cannot justify it. God's sake. I hate (love) this site sometimes.
