  1. Ok the tints you hated yes, but lord don’t return it to full old man spec!
  2. Found a picture for you, I took it as reference just in case I forgot going forward.
  3. Yeah they are wrong, a touch too slim. I had the same attitude towards them as the tyres are very recent so no point wasting money. EDIT: I’m fairly certain they should be 265/35/18 as the identical wheels on a newer E class that they come from had this size as stock and looked good .
  4. It’s gone to a friend of the owner of Stone Cold classics. It was offered to a couple shiters via PM but didn’t hear back afterwards unfortunately. I’m sure it’ll find a good home though, he was passionate about that.
  5. Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire to the West Midlands on Monday if anyone does so require.
  6. Haha yes! I spoke to Wayne and asked him to get Matt to review it before he moved it on! 🙌🙌
  7. 417k mile ex taxi Avensis…

  9. So my Avensis went off to a dealer today. Had an absolute blast chatting away for ages to Wayne at Stone Cold Classics and I got a fair price for it. His small collection is amazing. It’ll be going to his friends garage instead and I’m happy with the outcome all round.
  10. Finally done the Pollen filter on my sisters Laguna. I’ve done her full service bar this a month ago and clearly it needed it. Looks like it hasn’t been done for a while, plus they weren’t fitted correctly. New ones in and fitted the correct way (stacked on top of each other).
  11. I did a buy today. Best car I’ve owned by a mile, and I’ve owned a fair few. Powerful, comfortable, practical and economical. Love it and it’s a treat to myself. Literally nothing needs doing. When I get a chance, I’ll clay bar and ceramic coat it.
  12. Amazing stuff. I’ve got a bottle to use on the Avensis on a few small bits. Nothing else comes close to how good this stuff is
  13. Jesus Christ 😂was that at full throttle for that MPG?!
  14. I did a rotation on the wheels on the Avensis a few days ago after I stuck the originals back on. The fronts had very recent tyres but the rears are like 6 years old. Turns out the rears are misshapen due to the low mileage and never getting used, and I’d get an odd vibration even though they were balanced. Two new tyres being fitted Tuesday, £93. Say what you want about budgets, but these Autogreens from National are A rated for wet grip allegedly and with the 10% discount it was a no brainier. Plus it is no sports car.
  15. Lovely dependable cars and a superb engine. EGR delete and they’ll run and run. The front wings when they rust are cheap enough to replace too.
  16. I had no idea these came with a 1.8T! Always assumed it was the N/A 1.6 and the diesels.
  17. Blimey mine seems a stone cold bargain compared to this. Also this seller is the one in Bradford that sells a lot of allegedly “mint” jap stuff for eye watering amounts. 🚩
  18. Serviced the Avensis today. I despise Crosland parts (spotted the Crosland oil filter and air filter) and despite the last service being less than 2k miles ago in the history and invoices, it was about a year or so ago. everything bar the fuel filter was done, as that’s on order, a quality Blueprint item due on Tuesday. Bosch plugs taken out and better NGK ones in. I also treated it to a bottle of Liqui Moly Ceratec which at £20 odd was expensive but it is proven to work so wanted to give it the best. Runs lovely. Pollen filters have clearly never been changed. What an experience finding and replacing them but thanks to @BorniteIdentityfor the advice.
  19. Answered my own question on this one. 5mm universal spacers will give enough clearance to go forward to claw back the negative offset that these had. Boom. They arrive Thursday so hopefully before the end of the week it’ll look a lot neater rather than a bit of a mess.
  20. Alloys fitted today. I won’t be lowering it so everyone can breathe a sigh of relief 😅 I think they really suit it. However the original bolts are too long, and look silly. It needs the flat ones which are on order. The annoying thing is the front hub nut bolt extends too far out and pushes the centre cap off. Can’t seem to think of any solutions to this though, so for now it drives without them on the front. Spacers perhaps? Or grind back the nut a few mm? I am going to have a look around for some different centre caps instead most likely.
  21. This immaculate and rare VI today. I obviously didn’t take the picture. Only knew these existed thanks to Furious Driving.
  22. Yes it is, and it’s fully working. I just needed Bluetooth etc.
  23. Ancient but cool Sony system removed for a fairly modern touch screen pioneer for the Avensis. Has Bluetooth for calls and music which is what I care about.
  24. This man now accompanies me everywhere with his sheer happiness.
