  1. What is the rest function? I liked the little pads in between the seats and the centre console to stop things dropping down. Clearing out the Black Death on my old 320CDi wasn’t fun. I had an Avant Garde, they are superb if they’ve been looked after.
  2. I bought one from Sheffield, they are nice cars, but they do have a few wel known faults. The electronics don't run very well with a worn out battery, and FFS Mercedes, can you please sort out that rust trap on the corner of the front wings. Just have a look at every other car that doesn't rust there and copy their design!
  3. Driving down the M6, one of my wiper blades decided to go solo, swinging loosely on the hook, doing it's best to escape, but not quite. Seeing it's misfortune he obviously thought he wasn't going alone, so hooked the other wiper, both doing a crazy jig across the windscreen before the two of them disappeared into the wet, raining Midlands sky, leaving my perplexed wiper arms to scutter across the glass. The only bodge really was sticking my head out of the window for the rest of the journey. From memory, these were both poundland windscreen wipers, which are absolute shit.
  4. I bought five boxes anyway. Forgot to put the code in as well (or it didn't work for me). 😫
  5. I bought a box last month, they tear without any provocation, but on the box it says for food preparation, etc. I would probably pay £1.99 for them, but constantly changing them and going through 10 pairs on really light jobs gets tiring (and is a waste). Honestly, they're really crap.
  6. BTW iPhone will not read Bluetooth OBD things, only WiFi.
  7. No. It was originally called ‘Kiss From a Seat Arose’. And the kiss involved was at 35mph, to Seal’s face.
  8. Fuel flap is always on the opposite side of the exhaust pipe, for safety reasons. LHD/RHD country of manufacture cars always used to dictate side of fuel flap also (ie always on the drivers side)
  9. Looks like a modern day washing machine, or kitchen appliance. It will look even blander once it’s released with a blobbier crumple zones, US spec headlights and 5 foot high pedestrian friendly front end, and sat under grey February skies in a fifteen mile gridlocked m6 with 18 stone middle management Marcus at the wheel.
  10. Never ever had a problem with an oil filter! I bet that cardboard does an ok job at filtering, these things can only be tested in a lab. That rust isn’t good but I doubt it’ll do that much damage. It must’ve been stored incorrectly, and nothing to do with manufacturing surely? I only ever buy from the dealer, they’re about £8.
  11. It’s possible that final scene is computer generated. A purchased 3D model would be cheaper than doing it in real life, the fallen tree is 100% CG.
  12. Do you have any of the post 2000 Fiat Pandas?
  13. Yes, there's no looking past the fact that those rank wheels let the whole thing down, aestheically and probably performance/ride as well. It would immediately benefit from some standard VW van steelies. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-TRANSPORTER-T25-T3-SET-OF-4-WHEELS-WITH-TYRES-STEEL-RIMS-14-BREAKING/233335166250?hash=item3653dc152a:g:KYAAAOSw6Olc0YIE
  14. Buy this badge to go with the mug: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MG-Car-Badge/303272067595?hash=item469c6c820b:g:PM8AAOSw9hdaRiMT He only wants £32 for a piece of metal from an event that nobody ever remembers or went to (barring a few sad, old, fat men with MG's), with no relevance to anything, and worth absolutely nothing to anyone.
  15. The Astra looks like it should be on a Lookers forecourt!
  16. Clios seemed to get more bloated and hideous for every facelift they got. The 5, Clio mk1 and Clio mk2 pre-facelift are nice lookers.
  17. SURELY one of the best cars made in the past 40 years or whatever! pistonheads/top gear fans all will agree with me ANY job on these is DIY, they’re so easy to work on and you can drive to work and back without oil or coolant (source my dad, cavalier 1.6GLS, 2006)

Agree with the simplicity thing, my current car is as simple as they come and it's great, but I miss things like cruise control, parking sensors, rain sensors, auto lights, satnav touch screen etc etc The radar thing and lane assistance is just un-neccessary, as is an internet browser in the dashboard, and that Sprinter steering wheel scares me.
  19. The brake switch on these is a simple two pin on off type. It’s nothing special, unless they made them more complex on later models. the battery problem came on mine and it caused loads of problems like cruise control, ABS and not changing gear. It’s not a dead battery thing, it’s just not 100% and the cars electronics don’t seem to handle it well.

  21. My old escort Rs Turbo had gearbox in sump when I changed to first instead of fifth at 100mph on the m62, as well as some other engine parts.
  22. That gearknob is OEM MSport, it's missing the plastic thing obviously. Car looks great, I love those weird looking 5 series.
