  1. Sorry to miss you all, even @hairnet (slightly) - see you next time. In other news, all the Dyane jobs are done! I even managed to do some electrics, which apparently work...
  2. That's at least the second @Six-cylinder Jaaaaaaaag that @Talbot's killed! Only temporarily though, cos he's a bit of an XK-whisperer... 😎
  3. Three was enough. Little French cars used to be light, and cash was scarce post-WW2. Four would have been too many, and the mechanical/practical disadvantages of two are obvious! 'Smol' cars are no longer smol, and can weigh about the same as a minor asteroid. They often have five-bolt hubs with the same PCD as larger vehicles in the range, so rationalising the robotic assembly machinery. Volkswagen Group, I'm looking at you...
  4. (Library image may not represent actual chalet supplied) 😁
  5. Small project on the Dyane, should anyone have an idle moment on Saturday and care to join me: * fit new washer bottle/pump and jets * fit bonnet hooks * Araldite three press-studs for the canvas sunscreen
  6. Only if someone died inside, AIUI - or it's so... 'contaminated'... that it's beyond effective rescue.
  7. In this case, no. Just... NO.
  8. Don't get me started on fucking pharmacies... 🤬 Annnnnd breathe.
  9. No cart springs, so a Fronterror it ain't. Looking at the wheels, I'd go with Shogun. Whatever it was, it is VERY DEAD!
  10. It would have been fun surprising people with the Dyane! Next time... 😎
  11. "Young Gun" George 11th in race 1 yesterday, after a great run.
  12. Hence DB's very sensible '£1800 deposit' requirement! 😁
  13. Amateur... 😁 I suppose at least I can use extreme man-maths to spread recent expenditure across 31 years of ownership!
  14. Car seems very happy with the wider/taller rubber. Managed to get the ignition to talk to the app, so used my phone as an 'electronic dashboard'. Not really big enough, so will try a tablet and Bluetooth.
  15. Details on how you know this, please!
  16. As soon as I saw the first pic, I thought "Llandudno!" The Owd Giffer and the Mothership grew up there and I lived there until I was two.
