I was in Rome last week and anything painted white seems the rule. Mostly Toyotas of any flavour with hybrids and EV now coming in. One guy however had a Punto 5 door!

Riken is the budget brand on Michelin. Think it goes something like Riken - Kormoran - Kleber - Michelin in order of cost therefore performance, maybe!

When I started with a small car haulier in 1996 I had one of those Hoyner trailers, a full 20 years after this one was snapped. With some extra rampage it was possible to get 9 Fiesta/Corsa sized cars on it.

Cubby's (James A Cuthbertson) yard in Biggar, thankfully someone seems to have taken pictures before it was cleared out. They were an engineering company who also did heavy work, pipe and cable laying, heavy off road recovery, railway work, but most well known for snowploughs. The Diamond T on the right I can remember being brought out in the bad winters to keep the A702 with a large V plough on the front. They've been saved recently and getting back to being a force in the winter maintenance field. They never seemed to throw anything away and as they had the old station yard there was plenty of storage to just park them up. Our high school playing field was just across a burn from the yard but I didn't appreciate it at that age in the 70's.

Despite driving since 1979 I've hardly had anything to do with Fiestas. Some passengering around the late 70's/early 80's as a mates mum had one. Overachieving little things as they seemed to be only developed as much as they had to to keep up and always to a price.

Micky Dolenz and Davy Jones or half a Monkee. -
Really looks the part for a muck shifter. The wheel step to toehole step and in must have been a real PITA though.

Just been to the chemist where there is a sign that reads "The responsible pharmacist is ...." Can't help wondering if they also have an irresponsible pharmacist in case someone needs something more recreational. -

Wow, I'm up to my oxters (armpits) in nostalgia as I had an E Reg 120L 5 for around 2 years about 30 years ago, bloody loved it! Mine was the redder red whatever it was called. Near where I lived there was a junction a bit back on itself and uphill, many a happy tail out on a wet day was had pretending to be Jonh Haughland. It was a bit hard on rear wheel bearings funnily enough! If I recall you can help the handling with SAAB 900 shocks, unfortunately I can't remember if it's front or rear shocks. Anyway I look forward to reading about this beauty's revival.
