I've just ferried this absolute barge all the way up from North Wales to the North East today. Bloody great car and you have got a bargain there @Robson3022.  The return leg wasn't so great on the train back. 6 and a half hours it took to get home... fuck me.

I firmly believe the VW diesel scandal is what sounded the death knell for diesel cars and has brought on the current wave of lets buy electric cars pish. Yes, saving the planet and all that is a must and clean renewable energy has to be better than diesel for sure but look at what company has benefitted from that massively, Tesla... an American corporation. Does make you wonder. 
Anyway as a side note... anyone else think the govt will have to backtrack on the banning sale of new petrol and diesel cars from 2030...

It does seem rather daft, but I'd say there's less chance of that large packet getting lost in transit, rather than a fag packet sized parcel. Especially at this time of year. So, possibly makes sense.

I didn't realise the TT issue was that widespread, but they did remedy it.

cheating is cheating, but when nearly all the manufacturers are at it you have to ask yourself...are they at fault or is the test? The whole emissions thing was pretty bullshit anyway, when you consider the energy put into building a car, then a car that can do 200k miles before being scrapped in my mind is better than a more efficient car that can only do half that mileage before it's uneconomical to repair. The whole diesel-gate thing was in my mind backed by america who were watching VW grow at a rate of knots and shitting themselves over the future of their own car manufacturers. They decided they had to hobble the competition, if ford had been playing the same game, would they have got the same punishment? i very much doubt it.

It is a bit like when BP had the deepwater horizon oil spill off the coast of florida, which was caused largely by their use of american contracting firms if that had been exxon mobil i don't think they'd have got buggered as badly as they were....but because it was a foreign company they were more willing to play hard ball and make an example.

@TheDoctor firstly, I for one am glad you are sharing this here. There are more of us here who have our own mental health history, and I appreciate when it is talked about, or normalised. I know talking about ones own mental health is not always the best thing in terms of living with ongoing issues, but when it is then please, bring it on! It helps others feel less weird about their mental health, one less anxiety to have to deal with.
The old cliche: it's not so embarrassing to talk about a sprained wrist, an old broken bone, arthritis, but when it comes to mental health there is still shame to be felt. Same with prostate illness, or cervical illness for that matter.
This place has differences of opinion, differences of sense of humour, but that's ok, we get on with it. The important thing is that there's a whole lot of decent people willing to help other people out.
It's up to you where you feel comfortable socialising but your posts are welcome here and enjoyed, people here value your input and miss you when you are quiet.

Headlight bulb swap postponed due to totally inaccurate weather forecast, my 1300 sat in the workshop with its rear subframe out (ie other work now needs to happen outside) and yesterday's snow melting and finding new and ingenious ways of coming through the roof of the unit storing my other classics.

Wow, just calculated approximately what I spent on buying these shitters and it amounts to somewhere in the region of £25k. 
I did sell the majority of the cars and have ended up with a pair of 305's, a 205, S123 230te, 2 x Hyundai Stellars, Chevette, Brat, Ranger, 2 x KMX 125's, KDX 200, KE100, RT100, ETX125.

first class from world of ceri,more work done on it today,got picture,not transfer,so giffer taped over door panels,black,could not find my silver tape,passenger side rear removed door panel to get window reg,well rotted,lukily cat left some new ones in,undo two bolts,removed rusty one,removed window,to push on new used sylicone spray,still abit tough to push on,done.hope to upload pictures soon...
