I've been trying for ages to find a load cover for one of these, unfortunately they cost a fucking fortune on ebay. It worked out cheaper getting some tint applied to the windows, so that was today's job. the desired effect has been achieved, you now can no longer see into the boot. Pretty decent job as well, no bubbling. Since I've managed to sell the Prelude, and this thing keeps providing hassle free service, I think I'm just going to keep hold of it. I've done a fair bit of work making it decent, and it's actually grown on me. No nonsense motoring. I'm going to treat it to a proper clean next week as its filthy

The Lancer has been used for wintering duties lately, and even with the setting on the middle bit it's fucking roasting. Haven't dared turn it up full pelt yet

Showing the Lancer I picked up from here some love recently, put a full set of new tyres on it last week, and two days in my mates unit has sorted out the bodywork.

Pretty happy with how that turned out. Got a mobile mechanic coming out to fit a new sump tomorrow and it's ready for winter. Really good car this, feels well built inside, comfy and quiet. Ride is heavenly given I'm used to  the firmness of the Prelude and the 100hp panda before that. Plus it's handy as fuck for chucking things about in. Could be a long termer.

I decided to wash the Passat today for the first time in my ownership, only because local hooligans have been drawing crudely drawn cocks in the dirt while it's been parked outside. It does look a lot better with a Wash #5.

The problem for me is that I have no desire to drive something I don't like. And I don't like that many cars in the grand scheme of things. So those I do like enough to buy, I want to keep going as long as possible. And then when they break, I fix them. That means spending time and money on them.
I'm also a sentimental bastard and feel sorry for cars. I've never scrapped a car despite owning loads, and don't intend to start now.

    I suck at 'bangernomics'.

My own personal view is why pay over the odds for something that isn't really yours. It is better to keep the money aside for what you spend on a year on a pcp contract, run a shiter and then when you have saved the money for a nice car you can then afford to go and buy it. I wouldn't be happy financing a car for 3-5 years when it is isn't really your own and how many people keep a job for more than 5 years nowadays.

Not quite £200 as I had to shell out £250 for this heap of Yaris. It is a 1.3 SR mind with a mot until December. It looks far worse in the metal, the headlights have cataracts and the paint has faded badly on the bonnet. On the plus side the engine runs well but the steering leaves a lot to be desired, not helped by the slick front tyres. I will stick it on the ramp on Monday to see if it is worth fixing up as a loan car.

Could always just tape it up lol. Speaking of K11’s. My air vents would make this awful rattle as if something was stuck in them. Turns out that a wrapper from a chocolate bar had worked its way out of the glovebox and into the fan...
