  1. Just PM'd you my number fella - I'm in Brussels - slap bang in the middle of SPA and Brugge - so a garage with tools is available if you need it dude....... very best of luck finding the bits. If you don't - as you have a couple of days in Brugge - I could contact the Belgian Triumph lot - there's a Triumph specialist in Belgium but I think they basically order from Rimmer Bros.......

    Here's my number in case the PM doesn't reach you. - 0032 476 06 88 30

Amazing, thanks John, I may we'll take you up on that.

I managed to grab the bearings first thing this morning from a bearing wholesaler in Freiburg, have fitted them and am currently just going past Luxembourg - all good so far!

No luck with the pads unfortunately, and it looks like one of the piston calipers is a bit stuck, which makes sense as the brakes also pull slightly. I'll keep looking for them nearby.

  2. Hi all,

I've done something unnecessary and bought the Toledo in Italy and am currently partway through the collection caper home.

In Freiburg and run into potential difficultly - the wheel bearing sounds pretty ropey. I'm planning on doing 250 miles to Spa tomorrow, is that sensible? Then on Friday 150 miles to Bruges where I'm staying for 2 nights.

Video in next post of bearing.

When I'm safely home I'll update with many pics, but a couple of teasers coming up.

    Cheers,

    Pete

  3. I just did my first trackday, took the Porsche 924s round Donington.

My racing line was decent but I'm poor at knowing when to brake and apply throttle when going through corners. Locked up and went deep into corners a couple of times and spun once at the chicane between the straights.

Also lots of other race cars there who were bloody quick!

I think I was lapping about 1:45-ish, not that fast but room for improvement with some practice.

    A fun first go!

  4. Dollywobbler is probably your man to advise on recent experience in this area. You might then try Hagerty Insurance to arrange suitable cover for your trip. At least one of the Hagerty staff members is an AS member and they tend to be quite pragmatic about such things. DW has a 2CV like the one in your picture too.

Is that your Triumph Herald next to it? If so, do tell us more! :-)

Excellent, i'll send him a message.

It was my Herald, but I sold it to a friend a few months back. I bought it from a thread on this website - it was Jersey registered - did a fair bit of work to it, got it MOT'd and registered, drove it and realised I wasn't that much of a fan!

Replaced it with a Porsche 924s which had been off the road for 10 years and also needed some light* welding.
