  1. Seems odd that they went to the bother of changing the bonnet but didn't smooth the rear doors.

  3. You know they're deluded when there are more photos in the listing of the car from 50 years ago than of the car today.

  6. Unless I'm being even more blind than usual, there's still no calendar thread for this month, so I'll nominate this beautiful* scene by @Six-cylinder in his motoring notes thread. Nomination withdrawn because the picture isn't from this month.

  10. We had 1300 Mk III Capris in the UK.
  11. September 1983 as standard on GL and Ghia, but they were available as an option before then.
  12. Bottom of the range, in brown. It doesn't get much better than that!
  13. Lack of interior doesn't make it unroadworthy, surely? As long as the driver's seat is secure and has a functioning seat belt, what else do you really need? Assuming of course that the speedometer and controls are present!
  14. Current keeper since 1997.
  15. Peugeot 305 rear doors look longer than the front doors.
  16. Yes, this was quite a thing on Fords of that era, having a door release that looks exactly like a window winder. A friend had a 105E Anglia a few years ago with the same feature. He was delighted* when I opened the passenger door at 40 mph, especially as closing it again was a struggle even when stationery thanks to the sills having somewhat diminished structural rigidity.
  17. Rover JBY49J untaxed since Feb 1984 but last V5 issued Jan 1985.
  18. Louis Brisdion has posted this picture on Flickr. Flickr link A641OTP Ambassador 1.7L
  19. Yes, dangly mirrors were only on base and L. The GL got an internally adjustable mirror on the driver's side only but the passenger side looked the same. Ghia got electrically adjustable mirrors, so the GL mirrors were, initially at least, unique to the GL and unique to each side!
  20. No rubbing strip at all on the grey grille base! That door will be from an early L or a later base.
  21. Yeah, I think Honda have cunningly concealed the rear doors. Probably more obvious in lighter colours.
