  1. I don’t have an account, I use Mrs JJ’s 😂 can’t stand most social media’s. I have an instagram but don’t have much on it!
  2. Also with these brighter evenings I even got the chance to give it a quick wash, looked nice with the sun getting low this time of the evening.
  3. We’re going on holiday Easter Monday down to Dorset for the week and I’ve always been slightly conscious with this car having no spare wheel and running non runflats. Thought I’d have a look if there was any BMW’s being broken on FB I could rob a spare from and stumbled across this BMW fitment ‘Road Hero’ spacesaver kit which comes with a handy bag and also a kit bag with everything from a jack, wheel brace, 5 wheel bolts, head torch, hi viz, kneel pad, even a rain poncho! Nowhere to store it in the car due to the dog guard being in the boot but handy enough to throw in the back if we go on a long journey for the sake of £70!
  4. It’s not lowered, it’s just M Sport so I believe a bit lower and has 19” wheels out the factory so the arches are filled!
  5. Ah, they stay live for 5 mins or so then go off… should have thought about that 😂 I guess the canbus still sends power for a few mins after the last activity and then shuts off.
  6. So I’ve just disconnected the black/brown for the tail lights, they still work as normal with just the red wire (brake) connected but also still don’t go off! Wonder what I’ve done wrong here. Must have the brake wire connected to the wrong wire in the car loom?!
  7. Thanks! Yeah I connected the lot, tails and brakes. Would you suggest disconnecting the tails and leaving just the brake connected and seeing if that still works then? Cheers
  8. Tow bar complete! Very straight forward to fit, wiring was fine once I’d worked out what loom to tap into. Really happy with it. With the hitch removed you can only see the Brink cap so it’s not in your face. Electrics flip up so they’re hidden too. Only issue I have, and I don’t know whether it’s one you can answer @Barry Cadeis that even with the car locked and all car lights off, the light tail lights are permanently lit on the light board. Not sure if that’s because I’ve put the two orange lives to the battery rather than ignition live?
  9. This sort of thing is tempting me at the moment and I feel like it’s a worthy investment. Pick it up for £1200, leave it standard, they’re not going to drop any more in value and I honestly think in another couple of years these early R53 S models will shoot up in value. https://www.facebook.com/share/f8YKzj2gv2dmtSA5/?mibextid=79PoIi
  10. Would you say buying these two in that case would be the most straight forward option? Cheers!
  11. I had a feeling you’d be the man in the know! So long and short for mine being a 2013 F31 is just buy a universal type 7 pin electrics with a bypass box? Something like this? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143387672997?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=U2AtdA9ORXS&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=IaiIXmW2Rkq&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  12. Not sure if this is anything you could answer @Barry Cade but this tow bar has come with a vehicle specific electrics kit, namely this: BW02807U https://www.ecs-electronicsuk.co.uk/en/towbar-wiring-kits/bw02807u.html Which shows it’s suitable for vehicles March 14 onwards. My car is a May 2013 so this looks like the correct one I need: BW008B1U https://www.ecs-electronicsuk.co.uk/en/towbar-wiring-kits/bw008b1u.html Im wondering what the difference actually is? I know the newer F31 has LED tail lights but you can swap those into the earlier model so suggests the wiring is the same. I’m going to fit the bar at the weekend so am tempted to try this wiring kit it comes with, if it doesn’t work then I’ll have to order the correct one. Cheers!
  13. Rates are through the roof at the minute, most people are seeing at least a 60% increase on last year so £500 odd is pretty good going at the minute. Also just be prepared to prove occupation if you’ve lied on the policy, if you’ve quoted unemployed recently too. When you quote through a comparison site, the insurer of course have record of every single set of details you submit to them so when you buy a policy, they will validate it and cross reference every quote for anti fraud measures. If you’ve quoted unemployed then magically found a job a day or so later then chances are they will pick up on that and want a couple of pieces of evidence.
  14. Neighbours opposite had one on their driveway for 2 weeks and got a solicitors letter!
  15. Absolutely not 😂 my deeds also don’t allow me to keep a caravan on my driveway! When I had a towbar on my Mk6 Golf I used to buy the odd trailer and tart up and sell, but of extra pocket money won’t go a miss!
  16. Not sure why I need it, but saw a detachable tow bar and electrics local today for £85 so grabbed it - sure it’ll come in handy one day….
  17. So it’s been a good couple of weeks since floodgate on the BMW and I’ve been using it regularly with no issues. Drove to the NEC and back today 140 miles each way with no issues sat at 52MPG and ate the miles up lovely so we’ll take that as a “it must be fine” 🙌
  18. They aren’t 3d plates I’m not sure why that pic looks like they are! they are just gel plates 😂
  19. They messaged at half 11 last night to say they were home so it took them long enough 😂
  20. Haha, no replacements this time. The 320D hasn’t blown up after the flood yet so that can stay. Plan is to pay the bank man back the loan I took to buy the BM, and give Mrs JJ some money for her birthday as she’s looking for a slight career change and needs to take quite an expensive course.
  21. They’ve just left, absolutely lovely couple. Took fucking ages as Barclays have a 2k daily limit for new payees so they had to move money to another account which then had had a 5k limit unless they used biometrics for login so had to get that set up to send the rest. Then they couldn’t tax it because I SORN’d it last week so you can’t tax it online for 5 days after doing that but luckily my village post office is open 7 days so had to help them sort that too. Feel bad they’ve now got over 4 hours to drive home to Blackpool but it couldn’t have gone to a nicer young couple, I reckon they’ll really enjoy it.
  22. Hate to say it but that’s not bad going, average UK prem was £955 last time I checked 😬
