Discovered that the tame MOT tester that's MOT'ed all my cars for many years has left, which gave me the fear when I dropped my Pug 306 off to be tested earlier.
Need not have worried though - the old girl passed, a mere 24 years old and 263k on the clock 🙂

Ma was talking to Hazel across the street. Hazel is a big fan of cunts next door due to their habit of parking 2mm away from her car to intimidate her.
Well a bit back CND bought his n hers range rover sports, which are of course top quality cars and never break down. Turns out the one 2mm from Hazel's bumper is fucked and doesn't run. So she has CND hammering on her door to move her car so he can get it on a pikey recovery truck. What a shame she was suddenly hard of hearing and didn't hear a thing. Took them quite a long time to push it up hill to be able to get it out and on the truck. She waits till they're strapping it down and strolls out and drives away.

Was just reading up about Terry Waite's cousin who was one of the samples on Little Fluffy Clouds and found this article on the BBC website about oor Tel:

Dude is a right bad ass Rambo muthafucka, what do they teach at the Anglican church?

I bet someone working at the BBC in 2005 still chuckles to themselves about that one.

306 HDi averages around 55mpg, predominantly motorway and dual carriageway use on an 80 mile round trip to work. Most I've seen from it is 62mpg over an entire tank.

I'm of the opinion that tyres often speak volumes of the previous owners attitude to maintenance and upkeep.
Matching branded tyres all round suggests the owner has probably spent money elsewhere on upkeep as required.
Mismatched Chinese deathrings suggests the owner has run the car on a shoestring and I'd have immediate concerns elsewhere on what they've cut corners on.
Ultimately though, yes anything that's depreciated to a tenth of its new price will have issues that need attending to and likely will have seen maintenance slip at some point during its life. MOT history to me gives a clue as to the extent of this - long list of advisories year on year, failures on tyres and the like suggest lack of care, and repeated mentions of corrosion suggests a probable weldathon ahead. Obviously a clean MOT history doesn't necessarily mean a good car though, but increases the likelihood in my eyes.

It won't be though, because every time anyone tries to do anything, some woke middle-class champagne-socialist cretin starts screeching about how travellers are a persecuted minority and should be given hugs and kisses and allowed to do whatever the fuck they want because it's in their "culture".

Put a wire from the solenoid switching terminal and touch it against the battery positive - if the starter works reliably when you do this, it's probably voltage drop on the solenoid wiring (fairly common 205 issue) and if it still doesn't, it'll either be the starter itself or poor battery/ground connections.
