  1. That's the title track to their film. "Catch Us If You Can" - a piece of 60's existential culture - directed by John Boorman. Not the kind of thing you expect a pop band of the era to make. Stars Yootha Joyce too. Up there with Michelanglo Antonioni's "Blow Up" as great 60's films. Worth a view.
  2. I'm going to go over £1500...what's Labour now.. £150ph?
  3. Yup - British Leyland are going to get £350M a week too. I saw it on the side of a (Leyland National) bus.
  4. Which went on to be the Espace for Renault which were made by Matra for them.
  5. Yes. The driver would not be 'reported'. First off the whole shebang would be impounded and my hunch being so serious the driver arrested for a short time and changed with dangerous driving. Looks a bit photoshopped/posed as the tow bar fixing to the truck looks odd, the back bumper appears coming off the Toyota etc.
  6. Yes possibly duo-colour to differentiate them from the Ministry ones? I expect the Ministry took all the production capacity in the first couple of years?
  7. If the carpets were original I'd have a go at repair and re-backing and then dying them if they are saveable. Nothing like original carpets
  8. I think BL made some great cars - really this one included but...they made some odd decisions - probably forced on them by expediency and not to compete with other cars in the stable and just general lack of cash. Note they can't 'deluxe up' the instrument panel because they left no further room for any further clocks like a rev counter, or analogue clock or anything else the upmarket market wanted. And why a 2.0 and a 1.7 - I mean really whats the difference? And why not a six or a 3L? Mercedes had a huge range of engines on the W123 - one for every pocket and user. The only market these were aimed at seemed Terry and June. Ambassador had no LHD version... Ah happy days...funny old BL.
  9. Jaguar Brown's Lane had their own trim department - which I think after Jaguar purchased Daimler moved to the old Daimler Radford factory. Anyway wherever they were made the seats were made in house for both brands. I think in those far off days the trim department was mostly women's work. The sacking is typically Jaguar - saving money were it would not be seen Nothing more annoying than a saggy seat - top bodging. Incidentally there is an exhibition on at Gaydon - Women and Jaguar - "The Women Who Made Their Marque Exhibition". https://www.jaguarheritage.com/the-women-who-made-their-marque-exhibition/
  10. You are stuck in the loop you just don't know it yet...

  12. If you break into the car you get licked to death? *is "bunk rooms" a Devon euphemism?🤩
  13. That's where you put your luggage...
  14. "The past is a foreign country - they do things differently there."
  15. Bit of a Limehouse, London - landmark that.
  16. A last desperate roll of the dice by BL it seems. There is nothing very Vanden-Plas-sey about that interior at all except the badge. Pretty grim inside for the buyer at what I expect was a much higher price. Charming of course and interesting but shows up BL's limitations by that point. Always thought this looked better from the front as a mod to the existing car - than the BL effort. And why BL modded the crisp original windscreen surround who knows. Still for sale.
