Nearly everyone I know has had their vehicles nicked or damaged recently. Are Greta's followers just randomly taking it out on vehicles to make themselves feel smug?
-
Maybe cos there was no internet back then? Of course today if a car is being raced a driver will post on Facebook six months before the meeting about it before they've even started working on prepping the car, but back then no one knew what was going to be at a meeting until they turned up on the day.

Didn't make this as went to stay with friends and we didn't rise til 10am on NYD. Looked like you all had a cracking day.
-
That's what I did - went to a good friend's very impressive new place for the night. Six of us playing cards and having a lovely home cooked meal and a couple of beers (Fuller's Black Cab Stout, very nice indeed) and at midnight we lit some sparklers in the garden. Had a great sleep on a very comfy airbed, and more excellent home cooked grub today - big cheers to my Rallycross friends for a great night.

Welcome, fellow West Midlander and fellow Focus owner. Please pull up a torn armchair and choose the least stained mug for your tea.

Love it! (Does Bill Drummond ever look happy?)?
-
Nice find - I think we're going to have to try and track down that car's fate too. Have left a comment on that video. Incidentally if you like retro drag racing and hot rods, that channel is a GOLDMINE.

Then why the pic of a Corsa? And wtf does the thread title mean?
-
Someone I know in Sheffield has reported that a couple of hours too, including a short video clip. Very weird.

Strap her to a sidecar outfit, hand the keys to Guy Martin and blast her round the TT course. That'll shut her up.
-
Seriously, let's group buy it.

If I am not visiting friends for NYE I might be up for this

Stunning noise from an equally stunning car, I'm loving this. You mentioned that the headlights randomly turn off...having recently watched The White Room, maybe your car and Timelord are relatives. Maybe rig up some translation device using an Alexa and ask it.

I wouldn't have found a new obsession in both the music and car world.

That wouldn't be this one would it? (About halfway down this page) https://www.derelictlondon.com/war---bunkers-and-pillboxes.html

Please note: it's worth going back to page one of this thread and reading Datsuncog's huge post every so often - every time I look he's edited it and added more info and pics!

Why is it whenever I read this thread I am greeted by a page of reasons that make me happy that I am ugly and single?
-
That's.....beautiful. That could almost be seen to be a final goodbye to Timelord, cos as we know the Spanish odyssey is pretty much what finally finished her off - yes she appeared again in 3AM Eternal but was no longer roadworthy. That video and song make for a decidedly moving epitaph.

From the sublime... To the ridiculous.

Welcome Phil! Great to see you on here and thanks again for your help with our research, looking forward to any more stories you have!

Finding out today that a long time family friend, who worked with my dad for many years, passed away earlier this week at his home in Spain. I hate this time of year.

Oh that is fantastic - thankyou very much for publishing our research in such a great piece! I must say a very big thankyou to everyone else who has helped with researching the history of this car - the members of this forum involved, plus Paul Bickers, Daz Owen for putting me in touch with Paul, Shawn Mason of the banger racing world, Paul Toward for compiling the original Banger listing I found the car on, and Phil and Brendan who both own beautiful Timelord replicas. Thankyou all for your assistance. Most of all, thankyou Jimmy Cauty and Bill Drummond plus everyone else involved with the kooky KLF over the years for making such a fascinating and amusing story - I am still thinking of having a bash at making a model Timelord as a final tribute to this car and to the KLF. Yours in rust, Dave Goddard aka Pieman - motorsport commentator, journo and dedicated Bangerack!

This story just gets more comedic and chaotic with every post. ? There's surely got to be scope for a book here.
