  1. My sister in law is embarking on a Collekshun tomorrow morning (In NZ). I think she would fit right in here so have sent her a link so she can join in if she wants to. No point keeping it a secret for you all to try and guess which ebay ad it was, as its a private sale and being in NZ as well no chance. She's buying a 1996 1.3 Auto Toyota Starlet from Christchurch NZ. First step in the collection will be bus from Dunedin tommorow. Possibly the last long distance bus out of town for a while due to CV19 shutdowns. Hopefully she survives the epic bus ride and the return drive back to Dunedin with no issues. ER if you read this, please sign up and figure out what Woollarding is. An obligatory petrol station photo is required when you get home. If any one has any gems of information re 1996 Starlets please post them here.
  2. After 7 days with no electricity, due to mega storms last weekend that dumped enough rain to fill Sydney's reservoirs from 35 to 78 per cent in two days . Finally got power back on. Hooray. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  3. We’ve had fires and blindingly hot days, some people have died , a few thousand homes have been lost. We’ve had a drought for god knows how long. Last weekend it rained like god had turned on all the hydrants and turbo’d the hydrant booster pumps. Sydney’s water supply went back to where it was this time last year in 2 days(about 25% increase of total volume). And I’ve got a power outage due to the weather with no forecast resolution time yet. Plagues, pestilence, drought, fires , flooding, I can deal with, I chose to live in this beautiful country after all, but now I have talk to the wife in the dark. Australia in case you were wondering. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Not sure if this is a grump or a grin. Being Burns night I was scouting around for a recipe for a whisky sauce to have with Haggis and Tatties (can't get Neeps this time of year in Aus) and found one on Gransnet. Heard of Mumsnet but not Gransnet. Guess what I have been doing for the last hour. Does this mean I is old?
  5. If original studs aren't readily available, it surely wouldn't be that expensive to have new studs turned up. That way you could also make the thread that goes into the hub a larger diameter which would go some way to mitigating the hilariously short threaded length currently in the hub and also make having to drill out any recalcitrant studs a non-issue ?
  6. Sitting in the China Southern business lounge at Guangzhou airport. Drinking Glenfiddich - not that unusual anywhere in the world, but washed down with Badoit, Heaven. Would try posting a pic but chinese internet.... won’t allow google searching but apparently AS is not an insurrection ist movement here yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. All of series one, well episodes 1-11 at least, is on the ITV4 website to watch again - along with random episodes from series 10. ITV seems to add and remove series / episodes randomly. https://www.itv.com/hub/minder/29175 For those with 3rd world broadband like me in Australia, try out https://www.videoyoutubedownloader.com/ The free version enables you to download from ITV albeit at low resolution (HD wasn't invented when it was shot so this doesn't matter) and playback later so you can watch without buffering.
  8. That should be on the grin thread. I had the opposite last weekend. Monday was a bank holiday (Queens Birthday in OZ) and I was booked on a flight early Tuesday morning. Woke up on saturday morning looked at the time (about 06:30am) when I should have been on a train to the airport had it been tuesday morning and got in a right panic about missed flights until my brain somehow sussed out it wasn't tuesday morning.
  9. Try reversing the polarity to the pump to un stick it. Very short bursts only! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    What works?

75% 1988 Porsche 928 S4SE works but needs reregistering due to letting ergo lapse. 1990 928 GT needs a wash 1998 Disco V8 has hot start issues but no rust 2002 Astra Cab 2.2 keeps doing it's stuff. Had to replace the battery 2 years ago, a bit shocked to find it was 15 years old. Sent from my HTC_0P6B using Tapatalk
  11. RoRo shipping is probably out as it is normally DoDo (drive on off) simplest way would be to container it from current location to where you want to receive it. I can probably find out interstate transport contacts once home but the logistics of transferring either into a container at the port or pushing it onto a RoRo would be amusing. 12. Indeed. End of breaker bat on an axle stand. Tieed to axle stand and stand ratchet strapped between front wheels so none of the bots can move. Also put sheet of ply between radiator and front of engine to prevent socket end of breaker bar going through rad fans and ac condenser. Btdt as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. That tends to work really well, but I would add "breaker bar wedged and strapped in place" as I saw this done a few years ago now resulting in crank pulley bolt undone (good - objective achieved), windscreen of car parked next door shattered and various bodywork dents/removed paint by flying breaker bar (bad - unintended objective achieved)
  14. Pleas enlighten me , I've Google olli and get nothing. 98 V8 with no rust but lots of peeling clearcoat. Sent from my HTC_0P6B using Tapatalk
  15. Is Bucketeer still stuck in the wine cellar ?
