  1. My dad's Civic finally shat it's gearbox, so he's on the lookout for a new car, found this fairly local... Condition, milage and price seem too good at £1499...Also the reg doesn't bring back any results Shame, as i've been trying to get one myself for yonks!
  2. It's been 3 months today since I got it and around 4.5k added! Have to say, since it's now in daily use it's improved itself. Did a few fixes* the other month when I had free time. The front end had a fair few panel gaps, which I would could hear the wind resistant, so had an easy, albeit crude fix... Self tapping screes on the wheel arch trims on both sides. As you may have seen, on the first photo there is no grill, I'd removed it as it was rather loose, and glued a few of the broken bits back. Refitted and it's much better. The next bit was getting the front bumper to sit slightly better, and bring the gap between the bottom on the headlights and it to a minimum, which I also managed to do. The end result was worked as well as I wanted, and there is a great reduction in wind noise! Huzzah!
  3. This! This is outstanding! MOT till January '24, current price of £250! (9 days to go tho). Its the sort of car that makes you go "Why? Why did import it?"...and that alone is why I like it. Also it looks in fantastic condition! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266244184134?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=CgvEFCnsRW6&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=Zjm9nGLJS8q&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  4. A few years back there was one of these in Aberdeen, the owner ticked every stereotype box, and to top it off every time it appeared it'd be looking more and more sorry for itself...
  5. Back in around 2001 when I would have been 7 or 8, my parents had a red Mk2 Polo breadvan. Me and my mum was in Aberdeen and my dad was to pick us up from X Street at X time (Before we had mobile phones to say 'Here'). We got there to find the car parked up, but nobody in it which confused my mum as there was nothing on the street other than houses. Turns out it wasn't my dads car, just another red Polo breadvan that was the next number down registration wise from ours! What were the chances!
  6. I always forget how much room the Spaceship Civic has, but has more than enough room to fit a pallet in with the rear seats down...
  7. Update for me. Back in July I sold the Smart threw here, it's changed hands again since I believe. Was a nice little thing but as id said for my daily commute to work (80% duel carriageway and lots of hills) it just wasn't really the car for the job. My Abarth has been giving me more problems...so for the last 3 month's I've been useing my mums car , a 1.6, base spec W-Reg Mk4 Golf, Its a great thing, but she's needing it full time again. So I needed a car to use for work, and as a replacement for the Abarth when I get to selling it. Since @Supernaut got the Rexton, his Civic was surplus to requirement so.... I've had my eye in one of these for a few years now, since my dad got one. So when he said it'd be for sale I said I'd have it! I love the way they drive, the rapid torques and the spaceship design. It'll also do great for the commute for work. I know I'm getting old when I'm starting to care about MPG's! 🤣
  8. This route takes much longer than the A90, but the view is always worth it, even with the standard February weather... First time in 3 years I've been up this way as too. Should hopefully have car in the next 2 hours. 😃
  9. Collection inbound... A trip down Souf, so my dad has decided to take the scenic route down, A93 via Braemar, to the Central Belt.
  10. My work's been big spending, a fleet of new MAN's to replace the mix of Merc's, DAF's and a MAN used for the scrap metal contract, as well as some more Scanias's coming along. Some new LF's have came too! Got to say, love the new TGX's! Driving it is miles better than the older ones we had, in which I found had a horrendous gearbox! Like chalk and cheese now. But we'll see how they fair in the long run mechanical wise...the '22 Reg DAF 106's have, have had a few big things go wrong!
  11. Usining my 2015 Abarth 140, Coming home from work the other week, gear stick feeling shit all week...shat itself on the drive home...limiting myself to 3rd-4th gear...thankfully as I approached home and guessed what'd happened. Got use of my mum's car (22 year old old, Mk4 Golf 1.6 , base spec) for past week till I approved problems with mine.... As expected, the 'ballpoint' had given up the ghost. So carried the 'official' repair (slip a latex glove over it) as many a Arnold Clark Crnold Alark dealers has done, I'm going to get a local, trusted garage to do. *photo shown is my post-approved repair method.... I should add, I thought the gearshift felt a tad shit....but I spent the past two weeks prior with a Kia Sedona minivan as a rental, so my mind was marshmallow! 😅
  12. I take back that comment about a Sentra... A fucking Arazona plated Kia Sedona 🤣 Bonus points as can tell its been used as a taxi during 'rona times, due silicon residual left over from a screen behind the front row of seats...
  13. Officially on Holiday till the end of the Month, I bugger of back to Oregon on Monday! The fun part will be finding out what I get as a rental car, as I've booked 'wild card' essentially is getting a 'compact' for cheaper than if I just picked 'compact', but there's a very slim chance I could be thrown the keys to something else! I'll probably end up with a Sentra again, but I'll try my luck and maybe see about an upgrade pending cost and what else is in stock.
  14. I treated myself to another car brochure, for a car I've a soft spot for! A Europe spec, English brochure for the Cadillac XLR! A car they sold officially here in the UK and sold all of about 2 examples (according to How Many left). It's a lotto win car for myself.
  15. A potentially cheap, but also a equally potentially a money hole...C4 Corvette! Has 0 paperwork, was taken as a trade in and apparently never had any paperwork. It does apparently run fine though, so if you can manage to register it, MOT* it and don't mind the rough bodywork and hope it's not hiding anything really bad mechanically ...a cheap way into Corvette ownership. *Or spend 4 years then MOT exempt it... Would look great, running it as it is (Paint the roof to match though) and surely loads of fun as well! Yours for a fiver under £4k! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175421308940?hash=item28d7ecc00c:g:ZNcAAOSwy4hjKFSG&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoFm7aNDPHANvRmQzquaSaTCJaMYcqfjgdzA275c1nLZx3AHssfeRTWqaaTIceTft8Kyl1DNJK719fYgTSG%2BH2E%2Fe46JORVyGj%2BWTFrDXCSutYCSDJ45CX3M4hVXho24w22pmgYrYxilmekPNEI%2FTyGeQtwLGL32E4Pxd8My%2FVQY8JcV7YR8Q7x6zYcEkHjuSWF3PKDPBYMbJ6H3MrgOIRsM%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR6b7m47tYA
  16. I added some new brochures to my collection this week! 😄 Both UK market ones which is what I aim for. The one for the 300 is interesting as has alot more info about the SRT8 than I expected!
  17. HOW FUCKING MUCH MILES PER TANK?!? 🤣 I was getting to the last dot at about 200 and it'd be flashing me at 210 with 230 being the most I got before I decided I wouldn't risk it. It's almost as if me stressing it on the new A90/AWPR with all it's hill's and doing 70 wasn't what it was designed for... As for the sound system, you've fitted a much more premium system than me... 😂
  18. Whoever ordered this new... I need to shake there hand! A R129 in bright yellow is not a colour I expect, but I love the fact someone ordered it! https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202203233850086?advertising-location=at_cars&model=SL Class&make=Mercedes-Benz&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&year-to=2001&year-from=1980&postcode=ab419fs&sort=price-asc&radius=1500&include-delivery-option=on&page=1
  19. This plz... £750! https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202207177879547?sort=price-asc&postcode=ab419fs&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&year-to=2002&advertising-location=at_cars&include-delivery-option=on&radius=1500&make=Renault&page=1
  20. I've a small collection of sales brochure, got a new one for the collection the other day... Couldn't resist! This has to be one of my favourite images from it though... A salaut to the brave people who actu bought them!
  21. It's been a little while, but time for another of my "If I moved to North-West Oregon", so these are my top 3 picks with my $10k budget.... Firstly, as always, the Panther Platform car... A nice non-police 2004 Ford Crown Vic, a red on cream example that looks honest enough and only 96k miles. Would come in handy as when allowed to legally work I'd be able to use it for taxi work too And priced at only $4,250. https://portland.craigslist.org/nco/cto/d/warrenton-ford-crown-vic/7493303764.html Second choice, another fine barge... A 2000 Cadillac Eldorado in a nice mobster black-black! I'm sure people would be asking questions if I got into waste management and also vising secluded state parks late at night with a rolled up carpet in the trunk...if you know whadda me. Bonus points for the rear vinyl landau. One of the more pricy car's I've listed over the months, at $5900. https://portland.craigslist.org/clk/ctd/d/longview-2000-cadillac-eldorado-esc-dr/7495291923.html Final one for today, least practical I've featured but with reason... A green on cream '94 Vetty! Pull up everywhere blasting out "Rock you like a Hurricane" and leave with a burnout and shouting "HELL YEAH"! Enough reason to get it! All the while the other half would be rolling her eyes and thinking "Why did I take he this side of the pond?". A snippit under 6k at $5995, would be worth every penny I think! https://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/ctd/d/carrolls-1994-chevy-corvette-coupe-112k/7493596683.html
  22. Or how about this! It's outstanding! MONEYSHOT Not bad for under £1,500! https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202203183697846?sort=relevance&postcode=ab419rx&include-delivery-option=on&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&year-to=2001&radius=1500&body-type=Saloon&advertising-location=at_cars&page=64
  23. Piss-at anyone? https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202206096639502?include-delivery-option=on&radius=1500&year-to=2001&sort=relevance&postcode=ab419rx&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&body-type=Saloon&advertising-location=at_cars&page=64
  24. I'm no stranger to spaceship Civics, my dad has had one for 3 years now, but handles the trip well. Bonus photo of the car in Sandford Gloucestershire Wells.
