  1. Did he say 36 BMWs or was he just referring to (E)36s? Nobody knows...
  2. Oh yes. I speak from experience. I spent a summer using a SIII as a daily driver, and am currently assisting with the restoration of a SI. Fun curiosities but complete bollocks after about 10 miles.
  3. Mk2 Clios are shit. Series Land Rovers are also shit. Vauxhalls? Dugmeat. I actually like the Kia Soul.
  4. Apparently I could be viewing this tomorrow afternoon... Hurr.
  5. Dropped off at an MOT station about 20 miles away. Temperature gauge stayed rock solid, heater was like a furnace, and it drives very well indeed. I'm looking forward to having this back. Hopefully it doesn't disgrace itself too badly tomorrow.
  6. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/660495382158009 An NSU Prinz for a grand.
  7. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/731685082105957 Good idea / bad idea? £1,200 with almost a year of MOT. I like it.
  8. Yup. I'm getting lots of "sorry something went wrong" errors too. It's taking a couple of tries to get into any thread, including this one.
  9. Quietly confident about the MOT on Wednesday. Gingernutzz' work from October 2022 still looks fresh. I gave the front offside jacking point a wire brush then a coat of stonechip. Then the entire sills and floorpans got brushed over with lanolin underseal, plus the rear arches too. All the lights seem to work, no fluids pissing out, all the tyres are round and full of air. I guess all I can do is submit it for its test!
  10. I reckon the next installment features a laptop and/or WVO. I was actually offered this as a replacement for the bastard Astra (Bastrard?) but I ummed and aaahed for about half an hour before being told it was spoken for. When I was told who claimed it I thought "ooh, this'll be good" and got the popcorn ready.
  11. I've noticed the other quirks already. I just totally avoid tagging people or using emojis on mobile. Italics and bold used to be fine for me until today, though.
  12. I'm just posting this for the amazing photo. https://www.gumtree.com/p/ford/ford-fusion-2-remote-central-locking-heated-windscreen-air-con-history-ulez-compliant/1475820602
  13. I've finished a job application this morning, but I still have the laptop out... Time for some car hunting, then. As usual there's fuck-all in Aberdeenshire besides overpriced scrap. Stuff that's just failed MOTs for well into 4-figures, etc. Anyway, I widened the search radius and found this honey. https://www.gumtree.com/p/hyundai/hyundai-getz-hatchback-2007-manual-1399-cc-5-doors/1475916159 A wee Getz with a 1.4 petrol in it. Bet that's adequate in a car that size. It does have an advisory for "rear axle heavily corroded" though. Hmm.
  14. Don't remind me! Even Aberdeen has a ULEZ now...
  15. You're welcome to it, then. I've bought plenty of cars on blind faith before, including from "trusted sellers" on here. Every single one was an utter dog.
  16. I've noticed some weird behaviour in the text editor box. I'm on Firefox on Android. I was writing some text in italics, but then afterwards when trying to put in a line break, it kept just adding my next letters onto the end of the italics without even a space. I could mash enter loads of times, then as soon as I tried to type anything else it would jump back.
  17. Because they know someone who can do an "MOT" over the phone?
  18. The last MOT it passed was fruity too.
  19. Anybody want to have a look at this for me...? Seems too good to be true.
  20. It's only got an MOT until May. Fuck it. Basically what it does is runs fine for about half an hour then goes PHUT
  21. I foresee a dishwasher, or perhaps a washing machine... Already enquiring about a replacement.
