  1. There are different flavours of the Geartronic autobox. One was sourced from GM and modified by Volvo, this variant is prone to failure. The other was the Aisin Warner gearbox, which came with 5 or 6 gears depending on age, these are more reliable. The T6 had a reputation for eating gearboxes. i have an 04 XC90 D5 with AW gearbox, 5 gears. Bought it 8 years ago, I love it, solid, comfortable, good fuel consumption for a big SUV. the only trouble I've experienced is with the lock up solenoid when towing with a heavy load and uphill (I tow a few times a year). This causes crap fuel consumption and loss of the cruise control and manual gear selection function. The fault unlatches once the ignition is turned off and on again and the gearbox service required message can be turned off with an ELM327 OBD tool. Much cheaper than buying a new gearbox. Other similar AW gearboxes can be found in the Porsche Cayenne and other "up market" marques.
  2. I could get that to the scrappy in about half an hour. It doesn't belong anywhere else.

Not really off grid then. And we built it with any old shit we found down the dump. "Relisted due to time waster" Who was wasting whose time? Looks like it has been wallpapered or Fabloned on the outside. How do you get into this thing?
  4. I looked at the photo and thought what Renault is that? Then I thought no it must be a FIAT. Looks like a bit of both.
  5. I had a Vauxhall 2.2 CDi back in 89. Sold it to buy a house. What a great car, I was only 19 and this thing was the mutts nuts. Wheelspin, donuts, 120mph, everything I owned packed up in it for a move. If only I had more space. I have 4 cars more than I can park outside my house already and Mrs G. keeps threatening to get the scrappy round every time I go away for work. She also wants a skip to empty the garage. Now that is just cruel.
  6. £345 is about 300 more than i would give. If the sun was shining.
  7. I'm glad this has been sold otherwise I might have needed to own a LandRover of some description. I need a tow car that returns good MPG and I love shite.
  8. I reckon 90% of the taxis in my town were Mk2 Cavs in the eighties, that tells you how good they were.
  9. Even my Mk3 doesn't have injection. It is only an L though.
