Nicest bit of bodywork 'restoration' I've seen since I saw this old Datsun Sunny on a Greek island a while back

That's quite lovely but I understand your concern. Luckily my 1000 has a whole 39 horses (or at least it did in 1970), so my only problem is not having a headlamp flasher to get those pesky Audi R8s out of my way on the M6

I’ve got a beautiful early example  S plate which is actually rot free with 19000 on the clock and I picked it up about a year ago now  for £150 off Facebook marketplace.
I waxoyled around under the rear suspension turrets and the dreaded petrol filler cap but was wondering if you guys thought it would be a good idea to drill a hole on top of the sill in the the door aperture and filled the sills with engine oil then fit a rubber bung in the hole.

True. And because of those memories, someone, somewhere, will spend lots of hours and money to restore a Ka to showroom condition. Because it was his first car, or because his mum had one, or because the red one on pages 10 and 11 of the 1996 brochure was his dream car when he was a kid. And that's totally fine. If we would only lust after cars that were objectively the best/biggest/fastest/toughest of their class, the world would be a bit more boring.

Launched as Austin/Morris/Wolseley in Mar 75. Relaunched in Sept. All 'branding; dropped and car just became the Prncess. Wolseley dead at that point. Princess still appeared in the separate Austin and Morris range brochures that BL ran in 1976, along with the similarly 'not an Austin or a Morris' Mini.

Time to unearth the Mini then. I tried to do this a couple of months ago, the plan being to get it to my friendly welder for an inspection, so I know exactly what is needed to make the undercarriage good. The problem was the clutch had, once again, seized.  My attempts to bleed it had failed, enter Alf892 stage left with his infinitesimal knowledge. Having bled it successfully, and completed the most complicated ritual to separate clutch and flywheel (revving the tits off it) we’re now mobile again.
I took it for a quick blast and all is well. Off to Ken the Welder ASAP. I suspect I’m in for about £700 of metal alone, but he doesnt charge much for his time and I suspect he’ll fit it around other work for maximum value.
Honestly, I didn’t think I’d drive it again this year - so eternal thanks to Alf.
Here it is, having just been rained on for the first time in two years.
