annoyingly it'd be a class 8 due to the rear enginedness but then ive never done the big classic trials to win, more for the fun aspect, so the competitiveness never really comes into it. bike prep for the LE is getting there. need to clean and lube the chain, load the route etc, but nothing too onerous. what number are you running at? i'll keep an eye out for you

thats the puppy it's not the most accurate of things as it is very subjective, but it should get you somewhere close.

talking of rear arches, this is where i got to yesterday. lots more trimming and fettling required, but i ran out of time, so i'll have to wait till next weekend now. thats all for now, thanks for reading

I didn't do a great deal with it over winter, as i dont have a covered area to work in. Now though, the weather is a bit warmer, so i've been changing things.... first up is the suspension. all the oil had ejected itself from the ageing spax coilovers, making the ride a little bit interesting! so some new Protech coilovers have gone on. that gave the ground clearance a little bit of a boost. then the biggest change happened... morris minor wheels make it a bit taller! neded to make it a bit more presentable than that though, so got busy with some hammerite and the spray gun. and then new tyres: much better! im waiting on some hub caps, which im not sure will work aesthetically, but we'll see. also need to address the rear arches, as the old ones were too small.

it seems that i completely forgot to update things after the trial. oops! Lilys first trial went really well, she didn't come last, and the car performed reasonably well. the handbrake needs more fettling, and the ground clearance needs addressing.

no medals unfortunately. yeah, on the wheelspin front, i rounded the corner and said "oh poo" or words to that effect, and instinctively donned my lead wellies. I gather a certain Mr Pearson in the red Dellow(?) pretty much trickled up. damn good driver he is

Amazing! Thanks for the great pic!I was so gutted with that hill, we were celebrating getting up the main slope at the start, and sort of didn't realise there was more to come 😅 The rest of the trial went well, right up until Simms where we snapped a halfshaft and destroyed the diff. A *quick change of both and we went on to finish 💪

My ASSS came up trumps. 10mm sockets to replace the inevitable missing one. Off road driving techniques book, cool old ford dealer keyring, a superb in car bin, some cable ties (standard lol) but most importantly, a small version of my bucket list car! Thankyou.whoever you are!

New car day today. Not particularly exciting, but I do like it 👍

Today I replaced the throttle cable (it had a broken strand inside that caused the throttle to jam wide open on a test drive!), fitted the jack and tool box to the rear shelf. Also adjusted the mixture as it was running a bit too lean. Also cranked up the preload on the fairly knackered shocks to gain a bit more ground clearance. Test drive was awesome, but the steering is very twitchy at 60 mph! Tomorrow morning sees our first event over at ivinghoe beacon, and lily's first time driving!

And then it got late, so I wrapped the steering wheel with a 4 pack of badminton racquet grips until I can be bothered to get it retrimmed properly 🤣

Next up was cutting the slot for the door lock on the drivers side. Not got many pics of the lock setup, will get some more tomorrow.

Managed to kill my trusty old DeWalt drill doing it 😟 new brush less one on order 👍

Got busy over the last couple of weekends. First up was building a spare wheel carrier. Nothing too special, welding functional not pretty lol
