  1. I misfuelled my Honda today-put diesel in it. First time I have done that in over 50 years of riding. Massive inconvenience too. Maybe it's God's way of telling me to go electric?
  2. Mackenzie Crook owns and drives this (although not in the TV show)
  3. Alex is a great bloke, and his enthusiasm and knowledge of the Electric motorbike industry is second to none. And he is realistic in what the bikes will actually do in the real world, and not simply quote manafacturers figures. I really would be interested at what it is like to live with day to day.
  4. I had one on loan in 2019 (DSR?). It was bloody quick on overtakes and easily faster off of the line than any of my big V-twins (including a Guzzi V1200). But for me, it was not a viable proposition, as the 60 mile motorway commute into work saw the range plummet to around 10 miles left when I got into the office. Ridden in stop start traffic where regeneration kicks in, it would be great. Plus my employers didn't like me plugging it in at work and thus paying for my commute! Hope you enjoy it. My local cops like theirs.
  5. My former Saab was highly modified. ECU, Turbo, intercooler, throttle bodies, exhaust system, wheels, brakes, suspension, in-car entertainment, and other bits. Insurers charged me LESS than tye standard model I had immediately before it, and also gave it a much higher agreed value. Very difficult and expensive to modify any car here in Spain, even harder if you want your car registered as an "Historic" vehicle.
  6. Did you notice how many Fiat Marea's are also still being driven there? Still shown as a 200cc with DVLA. If the engine swap was declared, I presume it would fall foul of some DVLA rule?
  7. Had a look at a 1976 500S here in Spain earlier this week. Totally misdescribed (loads of issues, badly bodged repairs, and no documentation at all). Hasn't put me off getting one BUT.... I checked on the availability of spares for the one I looked at, just out of interest. Spares for Sanglas 500's made post 1981 seem to be more available than for pre 1981 bikes.
  8. Lots of people in the USA think that run of the mill cars with 150,000 miles on the clock are low mileage cars.
  9. Those fork legs look like the wooden handles on most of my garden tools
  10. Seen a couple of Chinese 125's (mostly with Suzuki GN125 clone engines) with 40,000 miles on them. Its all about maintenance. Ride them gently for a couple of miles before thrashing them. Change the oil and filter every couple of thousand miles. And protect from rust.
  11. The TR7 is owned by Mackenzie Crook, co star and writers of the series.
  12. Is there a car that suits Wolfrace slots more than a Scimitar GT/E? Thought this from the moment I saw my friends dad's one (TUT 60H) that had been abandoned in their large garden in around 1975. That's the sole reason I have never wanted to own one-effectively scrapped at under 6 years old.
  13. Surprisingly, I know of four of those near where I live. 3 are Swedish registered, the other German. Odd things, no appeal to me. Devon Bloodbikers have one for some reason I cannot fathom.
  14. "Well engineerd" Er, yes, of course it has been.
  15. Plate bought for £249. Sold the van with it on, although the buyer said I could keep it, as she was putting her grandfather's plate on it. No such thing as personal plates here in Spain, so you get whatever comes on the vehicle.
  16. Thank you to my Secret Santa, as Mr £95 informs me that my Secret Santa.. "has been very busy and therefore made a very generous donation to Prostrate Cancer UK" That was excellent of them. Getting things from the UK to Spain is a hit and miss at the best of times. A very worthwhile cause that I am happy received a donation on my behalf. Thanks Santa.
  17. I had an E plate Sri 130 that I paid £200 (or maybe less) for, as a stop gap car. Thrashed it harder than any car I have ever owned, because if it went bang, so what? Some stopgap, as had it for well over two years, only thing that broke was the rear silencer. Only sold it because my missus hated it, as it wasn't as new as her friends cars. Should have got shot of her....
  18. Really pleased to see you have got the Lexus looking so good. It was in a bit of a state when I bought it, in that it was dirty inside and out, but it seemed perfect mechanically, and except the TPMS light, was fault free. I spent a while cleaning it, but not to the depth you have, and it looked so much better then. The coffee holder lid bugged me, as I knew something was stuck in there, but couldn't see it. It was the shortest time I have ever owned a car, but one I miss the most!
  19. Sent. Postal Strikes allowing it to be delivered before the big day!
  20. KTM hardly modern, my RC8's are now 14 and 12 years old. Fantastic bikes, gutted I could get neither registered here without major work.
  21. It's a nightmare to receive post from the UK. However, some lovely person sent me something via Amazon in Spain, arrived quickly and safely. I bought something for my SS in the UK from Ebay in the UK. There are ways and means! Count me in please 95
  22. It is a great car-I only owned it for a few days until Chris could get over here to pick it up. I liked it a lot, more than the LS400 I had, as it seemed much more involving to drive, and was a nicer place to sit. Not that I drove it other than the test drive, what with laws here about driving foreign registered cars.
  23. "I intended to keep this forever as truly unique but the missus is the only person who doesn't love it and think it is amazing and special" I don't love it, or think it is amazing or special. Nor am I his wife
  24. What you need to do is go without insurance then, when it all goes tits up, get someone to set up a JustGiving /GoFundMe page asking for contributions to pay your medical bills or fly your body home, like this https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/leicester-news/i-just-want-baby-home-7091363
