  1. I have one, would not be without it now. Saves me hours, as the other option is to keep tye weeds in check is to cut them with a petrol strimmer. Sod doing that ever again.
  2. I've small Lomo bags on the front frames on mine. Tools and Hi-viz in the right hand one, tyre repair can and bottles of water in the left. Been on for the last 3.5 years and I've only opened the left one. Great bags, cheap, British made and 100%waterproof. Seem very UV resistant too. I took my GSX-R 750 from 20,000 miles to 180,000 miles. Never checked the valves. Only used the cheapest oil I could find, which I changed at 10,000 miles. Engine still good when the bike was destroyed in a crash.
  3. I had a Saab 9-5 Aero that I had to sell before I moved from tye UK. It would never have passed the inspection here due to its mods: Bigger Garret turbo and Abbott intercooler, Noobtune Stage 3 remap, uprated Bilstein shocks and Eibach springs, Abbott exhaust manifold and 2.5 inch cat back exhaust, Maptun bigger discs and 6 pot calipers, lightweight wheels and stuff I have no doubt forgotten. All mods were declared, and it was cheaper to insure than the 9-5 2.3 litre I had immediately before. Why? The bloke I spoke to at my insurance company said it was cheaper as I obviously cared for my car. Weird.
  4. All new cars are fitted with SIM cards, but I don't know whether or not they can be used to track a stolen car. In my last job we used to get the tracking data from SIM's in cars as to where a car had been to in support of criminal investigations.
  5. Insurance in Spain is seemingly expensive, but there are some good things with it. You insure the vehicle, not the person. Which means I can loan my car and bikes to anyone over 25 years old, as long as they have held their licence for two years. Which is great when friends and family come over. Especially as, outside of Madrid and Barcelona, motorbike theft is very low. The ten most stolen bikes are all scooters, not bikes My policies all include free breakdown recovery throughout the EU and Morocco. I did a few on line quotes in the UK, and they are not far short of what I am paying here.
  6. I also have a Honda NC750 that I purchased to do my longer trips. The Himalayan I still use for some long trips though, dependant on route and how I feel. The NC od great, as over the 12,000 kms I have done on it since April, it has averaged 86.4 mpg
  7. Lots of info on Norman's here: https://search.freefind.com/find.html?si=72079705&pid=r&n=0&_charset_=UTF-8&bcd=÷&query=Norman+nippy
  8. An oil change on my Himalayan takes ten minutes, start to finish. Checking/adjusting the tappets take 20 minutes, just take care putting the tank back on so you don't trap or kink any hoses. I have ridden mine on a 5000 km trip (from Spain) to France, Portugal and Spain. Did a scheduled oil change and tappet check halfway through as it was due. I would not have used mine on my commute, as it was 120 miles a day (110 of that on dual carriageways and motorway), but if it was on NSL roads, then I may well have done.
  9. Interesting to see how bodged the Beetle, Morris 1000 and Fiat 500 were. Really like Al's videos, nicely presented and he has a yard that I'd love to.rummage around in. Blokes like him, with his knowledge and hands on skills, are a dying breed. Made more obvious when he says he cannot find a decent apprentice. Not sure if £7,500 for that Moggy is priced right, but seeing as the structure will last another 50 years now, it might well be.
  10. Love to know where you found a journalist. Almost every one that say they are a journalist are no more than reporters. Which is no more than bring a member on a forum who can quote sentences they found on the internet somewhere. I look forward to reading the article. Should be fun.
  11. So take it from someone that DOES know the law on ebikes both here in the UK and the EU. He, sorry, you, will find that the police seizing his three wheeler and ebike far more bullying than my words pointing out his misdemeanors.
  12. Ah, no answers then. I stand buy my post stating that an ebike that does more that 15.5 mph without pedal assistance needs insurance and registration with DVLA. Without either, he could get in to legal issues. Fuck, so that is bullying? Jeez.
  13. Bullying or telling someone, who has posted what he has done, what he has and is doing is not legal? And what have the "anoraks" posted that is incorrect in brummiejon's case? Please point these things out so they are corrected and aren't posted again. Thank you.
  14. Sur-rons are piss easy to register with the DVLA, it's just that many owners don't because 1. They don't want to pay insurance, 2. They don't have a licence, 3. They don't want to comply with any law that restricts their freedom to do what the fuck they want. Plenty of info on Sur-ron website, plus a number of YouTube videos detailing the procedure.
  15. "As the Citroen Ami is officially classed as a quadricycle, it can be driven from the age of 16 using an AM licence". So say the motoring press
  16. Wonder if it's the only one like it?
  17. I suspect that is true, although many put them on sale at £4,000 plus.....
  18. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354947260157?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=bwp04imbrwm&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Cheap folding Mobylette at £895.
  19. I put my Fireblade track bike back on the road. All I did was to bolt the numberplate on. I did buy one of those cheap 12v strip LED lights, and connected to the brake light switch a couple of weeks later, for a bit of self preservation.
  20. I can see the Triumph being priced anywhere between £6k and £7k, putting it above the market of RE and others. No idea what the 450 Himalayan will be priced at, nor what it's Euro specification will be. The 411 is a great bike if used as intended, which is not hammering up and down motorways (although I have done that on mine with no issues) Used one some years ago for a couple of months commuting into London, mostly on motorway and dual carriageway. It wasn't as horrendous as I thought it would be, hence two months and not two trips. Felt solid and well screwd together when compared to a CG125, themselves not bad bikes.
  21. Think it is going to be the pricey side. More powerful than its competitors, and with lots of electrical rider aids.
  22. The addition of Stella makes it that bit British
