Well... I wasn't expecting that to happen... But I should have because AUTOSHITE.

    Thanks for the awesome gift...

    A genuine Feu Orange!

...The fact is that this was originally my secret santa gift which I sent recorded delivery!

I really wanted one but couldn't justify the price on an old air freshener however, as a gift...

So my santa luckily* sent it back as their gift from them. How cool is that?

I didn't even recognise my own box!

A third the price of a 2009 diesel Golf/1 Series. Are they that bad?

After spending friggin' ages sat in traffic coming out of Leeds tonight (I don't drive in often but when I do it's never been that bad), however I finally got onto some open road.

Great fun, did a couple overtakes that resulted in people flashing their lights at me, I assume to congratulate me on being able to overtake in a safe and considerate manner.

I then got onto some proper twist back roads and started really enjoying myself. I'm still very careful as it really is a lot more powerful than owt I've had before and I obviously need to get to grips with it without overdoing it, as don't want a repeat of the GT6/I'm suddenly going backwards!!/fence incident.

Imp Jr fucking loves it. Hes not been out in it yet but has sat in it.

I need to go and get the Jag from where I left it and get his seat out to hope the fits in this too so that I don't have to buy another. Mrs Imp is still FUCKING OBSESSED about his leg room. She can't go more than 20 minutes without bringing it up again. ITS FUCKING FINE WOMAN.

Plans for the car? Use it a bit but more pressing on my mind is what DAFUK am I going to do with all my other cars. I'm gonna start another thread on that.

I did notice that the diff seems to whine a bit from cold. Is it a TADTS or not? Might check the history or change the diff oil anyhow.

It still looks fucking amazing though.

I run a 190D 2.5 five cylinder on WVO. It loves it, its as though it was built for it. I run on 100% WVO in all but the coldest weather. Once it gets really cold I will add 5% petrol to thin it down and make it easier to start. A good strong battery and healthy glow plugs are a must.
It has taken me a while, but Im now in the position where I collect only really nice quality oil, which saves a lot of faffing around trying to seperate fat, water, and other assorte shite.
I get most of it free, but have to pay 25p per litre for some of it.
My filtration system is very simple and lives in the boot of the car, so I can do my filtering at work.
I  use 3 sock filters, 10/5/1 micron inside one another, with a normal kitchen sieve sat in the top to catch the bits of chips etc. to prolong the life of the filters.
Tip the oil in, collect it in a 25 litre bucket, then tip it in the tank. Couldn't be simpler. When I get around to working out how to post photos on here, I will post some up of it.
My car has done over 50,000 miles on wvo with no major problems. Personally I don't think I would bother doing it with any other car than an old 190D.
I have heard too many stories of people having all sorts of issues, but that's just my personal opinion.

The type of filters I use. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FILTER-SOCK-3X28-MIXED-3-BAG-SET-WVO-VEG-OIL-BIODIESEL-COOKING-OIL-ENGINE-OIL/173674438457?hash=item286fcd9f39:g:oDsAAOSwrklVL568:rk:4:pf:0

The only reason I never pushed for the v5 when collecting the car was because the owner was still clearly quite attached to the car and a little bit emotional about it leaving.
He did say that the car is now mine to do as I please with it but wanted first refusal when or if it was finished.
There wasn't a timescale or cost added because it's difficult to say how long it will take to fix it until I actually start doing the work.
The way I'm looking at it is that the forum is helping to ensure the future of the car, if we get it roadworthy and give the previous owner first refusal to buy it back/pay for the work completed and he decides to buy it then great, we pat ourselves on the back at a job well done and the money goes back to everyone who contributed to the cause.

If he doesn't want it? Then what?
I'm happy to listen to any suggestions?
    Owned by the forum?
    Shiter loan scheme?
    That's all up for debate.
