  1. I could easily buy all of the Mini Club re releases, but I don't know what I'd do with them really. I did buy the Monte Carlo one anyway! (again site won't let me put a picture on!)
  2. OK maybe me thinking it looked wrong when I'm wrong really! Sorry if it seemed I was looking to buy one, I was actually looking at sticker kits for Dinky Prisoner Mini Mokes and ebay suggested this to me (?) As I said earlier I already have my (fucked up) childhood original and this one I bought for Mrs Concern a couple of years ago for about £15 including repro surf dude and one board (it came with one anyway) Looks to me as good or better than that one but hey... I'm having the same problem uploading pics as alluded to previously, so see if this link works... @Noel TidybeardThanks for the link, but as above
  3. Bit of a strange one here and if there was a Miniature ebay bargains thread, maybe should go there. What do people think of this on ebay? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/134293904788 It has 6 days to go and already on £42! Now I know these go for strong money and glad I got one for Mrs Concern's summer house some years back (my original childhood one is broken and painted red!), but this looks to me like a bodged up worn out one not... To me it looks like it's been repainted for a start (imperfections, fluff stuck to it etc), then looks like new roof rack while the bumpers are pretty worn and chipped. Lastly look at the headlights! Overall it just looks wrong, or is it just me?
  4. I kind of agree, but I do like that you don't see them very often and many people have no idea what they are, plus the equivalent model to my C30 is the Focus ST and I couldn't really picture driving around in one of those. Exactly... Mine's a T5
  5. I had a 2002 Volvo V70 T5 and loved it, but it was pretty new at the time. I currently have a 2011 Volvo C30 T5 which is basically a Mk2 Focus ST. It's new enough to be rust free and fixable by any garage and old enough to be old school big (turbo) petrol engine in a small car fun. What's not to like? (ok lots of people don't like how they look, but fuck 'em)
  6. Is that an Innocenti Mini? Do you have a thread of your cars as I'd be interested in the Minis in particular. I have owned four Minis and two Metros, but a long time ago. Now I'm building up to the idea of getting one again.
  7. Is that a Standard 8 or a 10? My dad had a 10 and I thought the 8 had a non opening boot lid and a painted grill rather than chrome, but could be wrong. Also did I hear him call it a Standard 10 near the end of the video? Either way a good watch and I agree why not lots of views for some good content?
  8. Oh dear, me again... Today when out with Mrs Concern on our bikes we had some idiot in a large SUV pass us very fast and close, looked to me like about a foot away from her as she was in front of me (we singled up as soon as it was coming up behind us). The slipstream made her wobble quite a bit as the following van came past us luckily with plenty of room. Just after this said SUV had to stop for the level crossing, so I made a dash in front of Mrs Concern to get to SUV man before she pulled his door open and punched him! I pulled up next to him and his window was open a bit so I started a conversation (As close as I can remember it) Me: Excuse me please could you give cyclists more room when you pass them? (I didn’t even use a sarcastic voice) Mr SUV: No, why should I? Me: Well because the Highway Code says you should allow at least a metre and a half and because it’s dangerous to pass so close. Mr SUV: What’s it got to do with you anyway? Me: You were too close and it was dangerous for me and my wife. Mr SUV: I’ve driven along this road hundreds of times and never had an accident. Me: Well that’s lucky because you should allow more room for cyclists. At some point he opened the door slightly, not sure if he was thinking of whacking me with it or because he couldn’t hear me well. He also said something I didn’t catch as the barriers were starting to open and I had to get out of the way. Anyway, what chance do we stand, if he was any thicker, he’d set. I hope he will take more care next time as someone else might punch him out and ask questions later.
  9. That's fascinating and I bet you are correct, wanted the Safari beetle just as it was being discontinued haha! I did join the Corgi model club and got a Monte Carlo Mini which is lovely, then I started to think, where would I put all these toys models? I cancelled my subscription after just that one. I do have a pretty big and growing collection of Volvo C30 models of different scales in a display cabinet just inside the front door though and some people may remember I often buy seaside or holiday related models for Mrs Concern's summerhouse collection. Here are the latest ones for her birthday... I bought this Corgi Glastron speed boat pretty cheap on ebay without motors, windscreen or people (or Oldsmobile) I got repro people for it, but couldn't find the other bits, so bought a couple of motors and a windscreen for the Corgi Dolphin cabin cruiser and with a bit of modification, they fit fine, I bought the Rancho very cheaply and thought it would go well with the Glastron (above), but when I told Mrs Concern it would have come with a Toronado and that I still had mine from the 60s, she wanted that. So the Rancho had a Matchbox Kingsize speedboat hitched to it... Now I'm writing this I can't remember what it is, Corgi Bertone concept (maybe) anyway a sort of beach buggy so went in the summer house I bought this Matchbox carravan with it at a Norfolk Steam Rally I often see Corgi/Dinky/Spoton/Matchbox that I would love, but have to rein myself in as I would have no where to put them and would be a waste in the loft and why I hate this thread haha!
  10. This just exactly why I hate this thread so much and try not to look at it. When I was a kid, I wanted one of those so much and asked for it for Christmas, the local toy shop only had the German police car version and that's what I got. I never liked it (although I do still have it). Anyway I saved up my birthday money and pocket money hoping to buy the safari one they by now had in the shop window. Guess what? by the time I'd saved enough money, the shop had sold it and never had it in again. They did have another police one in the window though just to rub it in haha! Anyway I'd still love one and thanks for showing us that replica with your original...
  11. Kind of off topic, but hey! Back in the mid/late 80s a mate of mine got a job that included a company car and he couldn’t drive (he was very good with the BS) so he took one of those crash (!) driving courses and passed really quickly. Anyway he started work with a new Austin Maestro 1.3 in red (Emberglow?) and in the first week he got speeding ticket from a camera on Streatham Hill and when reverse parking in a multi story car park, his girlfriend opened the passenger door to guide him and the window frame hit a pillar bending it into a weird trapezoid shape so the door wouldn’t shut, luckily the window had been rolled down! He took it to a local body shop who bent it back enough to work and he never told his boss!
  12. Mini action! https://www.goodwood.com/grr/event-coverage/festival-of-speed/2021/9/video-how-to-three-wheel-a-mini-up-a-hill/
  13. I think you are right to use that caravan and forget making the Caddy into a camper. A lad on Cliosport did one and made a very tidy job of it, but in the end decided to sell as it was too small and cramped, a bit of a shame really (pics below) Also I'm pretty sure that although not shite, plenty of readers will be interested in the Caddy and the Yeti.
  14. Another of Ashley Neal's videos, he has been doing more of this sort of thing since he started regular cycling haha (still think he's a cunt tho') On a personal note, had a few pretty "good" ones myself lately... The other day with Mrs Concern on our bikes a Focus driver decides to pass us as we were on a level crossing with double white lines, was obviously surprised when a car comes towards us. He tucks in close to Mrs Concern making her brake hard and also forcing the oncoming car to go off the edge of the road into the gravel. On a narrow road at the crest of a hill (so just as I'm starting to speed up as chancges from up to downhill) a large camper van passes me. I say passes, but really it drew level with me at about 1/2 mph faster than me with less than 18 inches between my handlebars and the van so I braked to drop back out of self preservation. I followed it down the hill where it held me up at the bottom waiting to turn right! Both of the above on a narrowinsh road along the coast, part of National Cycle Route no2 and running parallel to the A259 for anyone in a hurry. Today Astravan overtakes us while several cars are going in the opposite direction leaving about a foot on each side of the van. (Also leaving a black trail of choking exhaust smoke!).
  15. I thought it was "do unto others, before they do unto you"
  16. Timid drivers who too scared to overtake even a bicycle are a pain in the arse. When riding with Mrs Concern I alway pull in behind her when a car comes up behind and it's a pain when they then drive right up close behind us on clear open stretches of road. Nine times out of ten they finally pass just befor a blind bend! Exactly! On one road I cycle on they often do that towards other cyclists/me... Not just me then! Good advice. Either that or they pull in when the door mirror is level with me... I had one the day before yesterday that shot past me almost up to a T junction, forcing an oncoming car onto the pavement and me to brake hard as he pulled in and braked for the two cars stopped at the junction. Never mind he got past me, shame I went down the inside of him and the other two cars (turning right), turned left and got almost home before he got out onto the main road haha!
  17. Not a car, a bike. This isn't the Mega Pro as ridden by Pantani, but still would be worth £500 if in good condition, but the frame is scrap! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265716700825?hash=item3dddf31699:g:jAsAAOSwJ59iOyH5&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAA4MYdW5DqgaHodZcAguNuRXhSXoE32rtFSJ432Tx%2FoUkjdPsZMipXq8OvxwwSfquEWrZ71RxsM1IBxINe1ffbyGWBrLh7Je1mMIiNsYeYI7wr4g%2B%2BR%2BuJZqEnbj%2Fs4KgTzub4KfhFCLy%2FFZmuI7XBMRKJKrcc5pjjszZGztfAgfyeBNgWXAthIGA%2BLeXTRpzcujX73M%2BWtw5OdPJJWyMNm1MoHaF3MMx5Gk3pDhgjuuH41VWQWpt%2BegR7XSgqJK%2BX0zrrCVn%2F7t%2FCIo8wNMkjCn2eHROzu%2Bi49rE3l2Cmw9S1|tkp%3ABk9SR7Sy8KPqYA
  18. Ok so have the new Highway Code changes made any difference? My experience as a driver, cyclist and pedestrian makes me think no difference at all, I know that’s subjective, but what else do I have to judge it with? I can give a couple of examples; While cycling many drivers overtake me with much too small a gap, often on a section of road where the 1.5m isn’t even achievable and many of these indicate right to go around me while hardly moving out at all and indicate left when they have passed which makes me think they are sure they are doing the right thing. When walking from where I live, there is a roundabout which is very hard to cross next to and recent “improvements” have made the road from the pavement to the island wider (go figure!). As a driver I have when I felt it safe stopped to let pedestrians cross here and the other day I did this for someone pushing an old lady in a wheelchair and got tooted by a car that came up behind me. Anyway I just saw this video by Ashley Neal who I find very irritating (I want to punch him even when I agree with him!). He suggests that most road users (drivers, cyclists or pedestrians) are not aware of the changes to the Highway Code and that next to nothing has been done to publicise it. I have seen no publicity from the Govt and hadn’t seen or heard of the “Travel like you know them” video until I saw it on this video. Anything I’d seen has been from motoring or cycling organisations or clubs. You may wish to miss out the paid promotion 1.45-3.06 What do you think?
  19. Very impressive, however my C30 T5 showed me this the other day... ...actually ended up with about 350 miles as usual...
  20. I have seen this driving around a bit and today spotted it parked as I went for a walk to the beach.Total Car Check didn't know what model this was, just that it's a Toyota (and the MOT is expired!), however a Google of what looks like a home made badge "Will Cypha" turns up a Japanese import. Strange looking frontal aspect... Strange looking rear aspect... Homemade Will Cypha badge? Apparently not...
  21. I'm probably the only one remotely interested, so feel free to ignore this... In the pic showing two 2CVs, there is a Wicked Red Citroen C4 Coupe (could be a facelift, judging from the wheels), do you have any other pictures where you can see it please?
  22. Now I'm really interested to know if mine did or not, I have no idea...
