  1. I love the diesel, I had 2 GLDs for work at different times, but the TU is much lighter than the XUD and handles even better.
  2. A great car for that kind of drive. ( Also for driving from Nordkapp to the Bosporus).
  3. I got the 205 started for the first time for a year.
  4. One of the best run independents, with a rather glorious livery in earlier days. For more:- http://www.sct61.org.uk/index/operator/ok
  5. It doesn't look any worse than the average 2003 car in Northern Scotland.
  6. The mk1 is gone in Ireland, but there's 3 2006-7 C5 lls I see around. A lot of car disappearance here is due to two things. First the tax system changed in 2008, from capacity based to CO2 emissions based, so a lot of older diesels are ridiculous amounts of money to tax. Secondly, about 10years ago the insurance companies started to charge mental premiums for cars over twelve years old, tripling the price in some cases.
  7. The Vectra C lost any appeal it had very quickly. The styling was typical GM in that it dated very quickly. Also, the 1.9 diesel got a reputation for needing expensive repairs on things like the inlet manifold flaps, which are outside the normal dmf/injection system problems that many diesels have. The only ones that would be a good bet from the bangernomics viewpoint would be petrol models or an early 2.0td. But there are a lot more 1.9s around.
  8. I think they listened to the protests and improved quality. I like 124s but they don't have the "solid" feeling that 123s have.
  9. There was a definite decline in quality between the 123 and 124, except maybe in rust resistance. I remember that there was a taxi driver's protest in Germany over it at one point.
  10. We once had a 12 year old K11 Micra come back with a complaint that it wouldn't demist. On Micras the dash panel is made with a panel that has to be cut out the first time the cabin filter is changed. This one still had it in place...
  11. According to this site it may not be the compressor. http://zatonevkredit.ru/repair_manuals/raw_content/rm000002pec00zx.xml
  12. It's often the ones with a shiny leased VW T6 that have cashflow problems and cut corners.
  13. It was a company called Chausson de Leotard. Apparently they could be obtained as a special order through Citroen dealers in France.
  14. That's because it's been used for all night raves and cooking crack in the daytime.
  15. They were made in Hungary. A mechanic friend of mine served his time in a Hungarian Suzuki dealer.
  16. Washed the 205 prior to getting it running again, testing it and selling it. Actually my wife did it while I got the strimmer running properly and strimmed all the garden edges.
  17. The Chrysler Sigma, made after Mitsubishi took over Chrysler Australia. Nice hubcaps.
  18. Clinicians are usually ok. Except that they don't control the clerical workers, who often aren't.
  19. Your first mistake would be thinking that any of the bureaucrats in the office care about whether you live or die. The clue would be that being an audiology department they are dealing with deaf people, but they don't change their administrative procedures to cater for them by using texts, WhatsApp or emails. All people like that care for is earning the maximum amount of money and pension credits for the minimum amount of thought or effort.
  20. There's someone in Austria claiming to sell them for €1.30 https://www.doppelwinkel.at/scheinwerfer-haltklammer-für-verstellung The other price is a joke.
  21. Do you mean these? https://www.ebay.ie/itm/253873787427?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=5282-175127-2357-0&ssspo=0ALu9_AiSZC&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=1gRsBydUQIa&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=EMAIL
