  1. Interesting, I've been doing battle with an MFG radiator too, bodged modified to fit my Maestro. In my inexpert opinion, the smaller side tank bits won't make any noticeable difference. It's the bit in the middle that does the 'work' and I expect your new one is an upgrade on the used one. I paid £80 for my MGF radiator, it was new but bought for a project that never happened. I did get a couple of snazzy yellow cooling fans too.
  2. Hell no. I'm sure my bikes will survive in it. Although I'm thinking about a few ground anchors & chains for additional security.
  3. Had one. A 1990 SE. They are ungrateful and needy but have carbs and pop up lights, so... swings and roundabouts. Talking of roundabouts, there is nothing made pre-2000 that is quicker round a roundabout. Apart from another Lotus.
  4. Vehicles need a 'straight on' indicator.
  5. +1 vote for @Dyslexic Viking to attend. I'm an introvert, and I also like cats, so we've got that in common. I do drink, but I'm basically plastered after three pints. I also get hay fever and would happily share tissues and unbranded Citrazine tablets with you.
  6. I could bring Master Grogee, 9yo (M). Generally of a happy disposition and likes kicking a ball around.
  7. That's very cool. I guess no 4G/5G though for YT videos? I've watched some great BL, Citroen and Ford launch videos recently. Maybe it's possible to download to A Device and hook it up to the screen
  8. Do you like screwing things to other things at least 500 times? Can you decipher poorly drawn Chinglish instructions? Do you like slicing your hands on sharp metal edges? Build a metal shed and be like me! (Ably assisted by the ever-obliging @Cluffy. Model's own clothes)
  9. "But mine is a 316d MSport so I get twat stripes, unique* headrest stitching and a 3mm lower front spoiler"
  10. It's a good likeness, apart from the hair, face and six pack. And motorbike.
  11. In that case I'm a renegade and proud of it. In terms of bin putting out, where I lead, others follow. I pride myself on getting the right bins arranged in order of collection and neatly aligned. So sue me.
  12. Moretonhampstead twisty route? It's a fun road. Shame about the 40 limits these days but I can't remember the last time I saw any police or cameras there.
  13. Piss yellow high spec Astra auto with 38k on the clock. £2k Northants https://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/astra-automatic-38k-milage-only-12month-mot/1476272497
  14. ^wot he said Site seems a bit iffy. Quite a few bad gateway errors today and it's slow, too. Bit more choke maybe?
  15. My set does tend to slip round the spring onto one point, making a scary banana shape, but I've not had it pop off (yet). It does have little retainer plates that go over the spring as a safety measure, I always do these up. I think half the battle is holding the strut steady so you're able to work carefully and evenly.
  16. I genuinely think we'll see a fuel shock that will 'temporarily' change motorway speed limits to 50. And when govt realises less people get squashed it'll turn permanent. I'd be in favour of a 60 limit.
  17. Fuck me that Cavalier must have been like purgatory. 0-60 in 20 seconds. Miserable. I'll have a 305 diesel please. A much better car than an Onion and quite handsome too. The Ford 1.6Ds were cars you were given, they weren't cars you'd choose. I can't think of a decent Ford diesel until they gave in and asked PSA to help. I remember a particularly nasty Escort 1.8D pool car I had the misfortune to drive, I punished it by driving it flat out everywhere and it was still slower than most other traffic. Hateful.
  18. Is there some sort of self-help group for SVP-curious people? Asking for a friend*
  19. 1.6. Rare now. On the plus side you can play with the talking dash when it breaks down. I'm not remotely surprised by the £13k asking
  20. Wow that's bleak. I'm sure the residents of my cul-de-sac are thinking that I'm a waste of space but they've been kind enough to keep it to themselves so far. I'm certainly a waste of parking spaces, there's 2 cars on our drive and another two on the street. But they're taxed and everything so fuck everyone else.
  21. And a lot is familiar from doing the Corsa yesterday which is basically the same supermini layout. Fronts are a bit more involved but not too bad.
  22. Broken spring on the Ibiza. Not terminal, but the front shocks look past their best and the rears are falling apart too. New front springs and shocks all round is going to be £200 in parts (that aren't no name shit). No way am I only going to change the broken one (see above). 17 yo Master Grogee isn't going to like this, being a teenager he's simultaneously perma-skint but also has a weekend job and no outgoings. Plus it'll be my fault for buying a 15 year old car that isn't completely perfect and also immortal. I guess we have time on our side. He passed his theory test yesterday but I know there's a huge backlog of people waiting for the practical test; a Covid hangover. I suppose in transport terms we're doing OK with four cars either working or close to working.
