  1. Yeah we've got another one as shown in the pic. Mrs Grogee thought she'd bought the same one but it's nowhere near as tall. Never mind it's only for bikes. People can get quite snobby about sheds but this is purely for storage and it's behind a wall so you can't even see it. Also it's by far the most cost-effective solution. But yeah, it came with approx 500 pan head self tappers... I'm still not finished but on the home stretch now.
  2. That's a good tip, may work well on other cars and vanz too. I remember seeing a Focus TSB (service bulletin) explaining how to 'fix' the floppy seals but it was basically more of the same: 3M adhesive tape and OMGKLEEN surface. My mind is still slightly boggled by bits that are stuck onto car panels. Surely it's just stuck to paint so you're relying on the paint not falling off?
  3. The CV boot has been stretched over the Cone of Shame and fastened to the driveshaft. Note the high quality* parts used. They were straight outta China with the usual chintzy writing on the no-brand bag. However, it felt the same as any other stretch kit and I bet it came out of the same factory as Sealey etc. It's all back together now, I didn't take any pics as my hands were covered in grease. I managed to fuck up the only small clamp I had but luckily @Cluffy came to the rescue with one from his hoarded pile. Tomorrow I'll drop it down to the MoT man for a retest. It was £25 for the Corsa which I didn't argue with, I did think retests were free but @RoverFolkUs put me right on that. Absolutely shit day for working outside. Really cold wind and showers on and off all day. I hope we get a summer this year.
  4. With the Corsa now legally driveable, attention has turned to the Puma which also failed MoT but not really on anything serious. Number one was the hazard switch not working (even though the indicators did). After a bit of head scratching with a multimeter and the fuses, I established the (aftermarket) stalk unit had shorted the hazard supply. Luckily I never throw anything away so I fitted the old OEM stalk unit, replaced fuse and we're back in business, except left turn indicator doesn't self cancel (TADTS). Numero deux was the CV boot, drivers side. The test said it was an advisory but the CV grease is leaking out so I'd have said that's a fail. Either way I've got the old one off and am waiting for a Yodel delivery (🙄) of a stretch boot. Not MoT related but still annoying was the heater valve. It's a bit of an annoying fiddly job to change but not too hard really. Out came the old Chinese one to be replaced with another Chinese one. Ford ones are getting scarce and at £10 a pop I may as well make it a service item. At least now I should have reliable hot/cold air control for this shitty Smarch (copyright @rob88h) weather.
  5. I've done similar: 1) Passed a kidney stone 2) Crawled around in the footwell area to fix HVAC. There comes a point where it becomes easier to remove the front seat, put down a foam camping mattress and lie on the floor of the car. Smarch is lousy. It's lovely and sunny here at the moment with shit rain forecast for the next few days. My shed project is half built and in danger of blowing away.
  6. An early one with the his 'n' hers 'dual controls' heater arrangement. BL twats
  7. Interesting, I've been doing battle with an MFG radiator too, bodged modified to fit my Maestro. In my inexpert opinion, the smaller side tank bits won't make any noticeable difference. It's the bit in the middle that does the 'work' and I expect your new one is an upgrade on the used one. I paid £80 for my MGF radiator, it was new but bought for a project that never happened. I did get a couple of snazzy yellow cooling fans too.
  8. Hell no. I'm sure my bikes will survive in it. Although I'm thinking about a few ground anchors & chains for additional security.
  9. Had one. A 1990 SE. They are ungrateful and needy but have carbs and pop up lights, so... swings and roundabouts. Talking of roundabouts, there is nothing made pre-2000 that is quicker round a roundabout. Apart from another Lotus.
  10. Vehicles need a 'straight on' indicator.
  11. +1 vote for @Dyslexic Viking to attend. I'm an introvert, and I also like cats, so we've got that in common. I do drink, but I'm basically plastered after three pints. I also get hay fever and would happily share tissues and unbranded Citrazine tablets with you.
  12. I could bring Master Grogee, 9yo (M). Generally of a happy disposition and likes kicking a ball around.
  13. That's very cool. I guess no 4G/5G though for YT videos? I've watched some great BL, Citroen and Ford launch videos recently. Maybe it's possible to download to A Device and hook it up to the screen
  14. Do you like screwing things to other things at least 500 times? Can you decipher poorly drawn Chinglish instructions? Do you like slicing your hands on sharp metal edges? Build a metal shed and be like me! (Ably assisted by the ever-obliging @Cluffy. Model's own clothes)
  15. "But mine is a 316d MSport so I get twat stripes, unique* headrest stitching and a 3mm lower front spoiler"
  16. It's a good likeness, apart from the hair, face and six pack. And motorbike.
  17. In that case I'm a renegade and proud of it. In terms of bin putting out, where I lead, others follow. I pride myself on getting the right bins arranged in order of collection and neatly aligned. So sue me.

  19. Moretonhampstead twisty route? It's a fun road. Shame about the 40 limits these days but I can't remember the last time I saw any police or cameras there.

  21. ^wot he said Site seems a bit iffy. Quite a few bad gateway errors today and it's slow, too. Bit more choke maybe?
  22. My set does tend to slip round the spring onto one point, making a scary banana shape, but I've not had it pop off (yet). It does have little retainer plates that go over the spring as a safety measure, I always do these up. I think half the battle is holding the strut steady so you're able to work carefully and evenly.
  23. I genuinely think we'll see a fuel shock that will 'temporarily' change motorway speed limits to 50. And when govt realises less people get squashed it'll turn permanent. I'd be in favour of a 60 limit.
