Oh dear, extreme sports do carry risks. I have a lot of metal in my leg because I won't stop ice skating (I still won't). I mean I do stop sometimes, I'm sitting down right now...

It’s been a while but the familiar ache/burn got too much and I gave in again. For context I was bidding on a certain vehicle on eBay in early August, missed out on winning it by a fiver or something and called it a draw. As we all know this feeling of nonchalance manifests itself in a desire to do better next time. I put it down to be being the wrong time for such things, seeing as though child number 3 was due to be born in about 60 days’ time. With that in mind, and the feeling of freedom of the first day free from work and/or childcare since March I put my pushbike on the train, rode it a few stops and got out at Leeds urban bike park, where I was having a lovely time until I decided to have one more go at a set of jumps. The ground came out of nowhere and twatted me goodstyle in various places, mainly my left (dominant) arm which broke either side of the elbow.
None of this matters a great deal but today finds me able to drive again and having won a subsequent eBay auction for a similar vehicle. The first part of the journey is on foot, in to the depths of Ravensthorpe no less- Coprolalia, dome, Dave_Q and 4 others

What is going on is that they have designed a car so fucking ugly that literally everybody knows what it looks like. See also Tesla cybertruck accidental window breakage and subsequent share price increase.
No publicity is bad publicity but it’s certainly no E21 or E30 -
An impeccable stable with the correct approach to improvement imo. That Falcon is ace

Is the needle 180degrees out? Shadow of rev counter suggests just over 3000rpm, which would be about 55/60 if similarly geared to my 205XS.
It’s in reverse, the speedo counted back from zero!

I’ll be heading from West Yorkshire to clacton on sea and back on the 28th. Will be in a small van, empty on the way down and loaded but with some room to spare on the way back. Happy to move stuff if required but wouldn’t be able to deviate too far due to time constraints

Had a 240 with the same engine and it had enough power to do third gear drifts at 70 mph. It’s all about commitment, and even 2.3 turbos aren’t anything close to being fast by today’s standards. They are, however, reliable, comfortable and spacious as well as being enjoyable to drive sedately. Offering to put it through a test does seem to make sense.
Thoroughly enjoyed my old 940 but some of that may have been down to it being a turbo estate -

Iirc its to remind you that you haven't taken the face plate off yet. Wish it was possible to disable...
I always thought so, but the one in my bus doesn’t have a removable face plate

This made me chuckle. Unsure of the purpose of it apart from reminding you that you have a Sony head unit

although as you say obviously a fake plate for the movie
it looks like PEG1 was eventually issued (PEGxxx being issued starting in April 1962)
its currently on retention and was last on this moped which clearly is owned by some sort of number plate dealer and used as a mule to hold registration marks
which according to another tool in my arsenal has had 158 registration marks LOL
I’ve always harboured a strange desire to invest in a really short, expensive private reg and put it on a shit scooter. No idea why

I usually work out mpg for the sake of it and do try to drive efficiently most of the time, but it doesn’t bother me very much. It’s a good job because some of my current and previous motors have had a pretty healthy appetite. Most notable was the W123 280CE that did an average of 12mpg on my short commute. I once remarked to my girlfriend after on the way home with a boot full of bathroom tiles “fuck me this thing is getting through petrol like it’s pouring out of the back”. Got home and it was, pickup hose had perished and failed catastrophically

I don't take an interest from a money point of view. I do keep a check on it though.
I think your average mpg can be a good way to keep an eye on the health of your car. A rise can be a good indication of a problem.
Aye, mpg will tend to rise if you have to push the bastard

I used to work in this area and it never took less than 5 hours to get here, 3:40 today when it didn’t really matter
