  1. As SiC says above, it's Fiat's answer to the Allegro series 2 'gunsight'!
  2. Probably not a surprise at that price. It was a petrol.
  3. CRV with MOT to December for £700: https://www.gumtree.com/p/honda/honda-crv/1433211145 It's red... ...very red...
  4. Scenic RX4 with full MOT for £600... https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/549959430027462
  5. Leaving the V5 ref no visible in the ad suggests they are not switched on to selling cars (as does the price!). Anyone unscrupulous could have a shiny new V5 within a few days (although I appreciate possession of a V5 does not mean you own the vehicle).
  6. I'm sure it will be available in a couple of months 😀 Or sooner if anyone is desparate enough to persuade me to let it jump the queue! I do know the electric windows aren't working though, so it will need a bit of time and effort before it leaves here (plus a MOT!).
  7. Dispatch now has new locks fitted to all doors, and as a bonus I discovered it has central locking. Which works! Have sent @Robson3022a message but if anyone else is interested PM me an email address and I'll send photos and a proper description. It hasn't cleaned up too badly for an old van...
  8. I managed to remember. Unfortunately battery is totally flat and it's starting to rain so haven't extracted it, but did manage to take these...
  9. Did you ever make any progress with the modern Panda?
  10. I'm out all day tomorrow but will try to remember on Monday (my memory is awful, so don't hold your breath!). No plans to sell the Focus; an estate or similar with towbar has been something I've been looking for. However you may have spotted a theme with my cars; what doesn't get sold sooner gets sold later. Will hopefully be ready by Tuesday; will keep you informed.
  11. To keep other bits and bobs up to date the Avensis sold to a family from Ipswich, and the Pride is booked in for MOT next Friday. Best go out and see if it starts then, I've not touched it since early March!
  12. I hate silver cars... ...so I bought a silver Pride. Then a silver Cinquecento. A month or so ago this arrived: It went through a MOT on Tuesday, so as a reward I ordered a new door lock set as it has the usual key spins in the barrel syndrome on at least three locks. These arrived yesterday, will hopefully be fitted on Monday and then it will be for sale. It's a 1.9D so if anyone from Scotland fancies it they should maybe book a week's holiday to allow time to get it back. And then on Thursday I bought this: Proof that cheap cars are still out there. It has had a new clutch and cambelt within the last 10000 miles, and three new tyres less than a year ago. It may need a bit of welding to the inner sills at the MOT in August but drives exceptionally well. I didn't haggle with the £425 asking price! It will become the new everyday car and the C1 kept as more of a toy.
  13. 'fraid so! See also Polos of that era (although I think they might squeak into the £220 band)

  15. C1 Vibe (like mine) and 107 Urban Lite had manual windows (and no rev counter). C1 Rhythm had both electric windows and rev counter but 107 Urban just electric windows, although as noted above it's easy to add the rev counter and many have done so.
  16. Early Carina E... https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1435500
  17. I don't know anything about BMWs, but this strikes me as a bit of a bargain (shame it's too big for the camera!)... https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1392088
  18. But surely all that is part of the appeal. This place is getting far too logical!
  19. Admittedly it now has a MOT, but that's quite a mark up from the £910 (inc. premium) it sold for at ACA a month ago!
  20. This is the key and is misunderstood by many, including on here it seems. What it is reasonable to expect from a 20 year old £750 car, and hence the protection to the buyer that the legislation provides, is rather different to that of a new/nearly new car costing tens of thousands.
  21. I agree with Saabnut re brakes. As with most of my opinions I know I'll be in the minority, but I'd... run it as is this summer otherwise you'll soon find it's October and the engine(s) still in bits, sell the 1800 engine as there will be some demand and funds can go towards... re-build the 1500 next winter keep the current gearbox if it is known to be good (and sell o/d box) investigate diff options. I don't know anything about these, but did anything use the same diff but with a higher ratio (later A60/Oxford Farinas??)
  22. I'm guessing the Cardiff train then, which I believe (could be wrong) reverses at Bristol Temple Meads.

  24. Sold at ACA for £1700 + fees (so £1892 total) the weekend before last to an internet bid. I had a good look round it and it's not as good as it looks, so not surprised the new owner is looking to get his money back.

In 2013 myself and a few other Allegro apologists drove five Allegros from Longbridge to Seneffe (the Belgian BL plant) to mark 40 years of the Allegro launch. Partly for something to do, partly because we wanted to see what, if anything, was left. Apologies for the shite scans from the club magazine, but the first photo below shows @Craig the Princess's Applejack S3 in front of a faded but still visible BL roundel on the end of the building. The second shows a friend's Equipe in front of one of the factory doors (albeit probably replaced since BL days)...
