  2. And there are many reasons a V5 might have been issued. He could have moved house, lost the previous one, or notified DVLA of the engine change mentioned in the listing.

  9. Whilst I agree it's annoying I'd try to look at it as he's £3300 (+ transport costs) out of pocket, money he possibly had to borrow, and will be for some time! I can't see many people reading that ad and thinking that spending over £5k on a 240 is a good idea.

  11. Applejack Metro! https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/436339188400135
  12. About 4 miles from me; was tempted until I saw just how many MOT fails it's had for corrosion! Also being sold by a trader, not that that's necessarily a problem. Great colour though!
  13. They're presumably wanting a premium price, but not to the extent of emptying it of their cr*p!
  14. Sold for £2268 (inc premium) at ACA last month. I wonder how much profit they'll make for fitting black and silver plates!
  15. Sold for £1760 (inc fees) at ACA last month.
  16. Be the first last away from the lights... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185548429692
  17. There was an article in the club magazine a few years back, written by our spares secretary, describing how to do exactly what you've done! (ie adapting a Land Rover master cylinder to fit, as Allegro ones are hard/expensive to find).
  18. It will definitely be the bush as you suggest; standard on every Allegro which hasn't already had it replaced! The club have stocks of bronze bushes to replace the original.
  19. Fiat Tipo in a decent colour. No MOT though... https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1493249
  20. Beat me to it; you do remember correctly! Also mini wheels don't fit Metros without bodgery; either the centre hole in the wheel needs to be made quite significantly larger or the lugs on the hubs need grinding off which means you're relying only on the studs for location.
  21. Agreed. The pads pictured have the correct clips., pins etc, but I would try a new set (which are available) and see if they line up correctly with disc. All Allegro discs are the same (and are also the same as the Maxi). New ones are pretty much unobtanium now. Agree with above that whilst initial thought was disc too small, clearance on caliper looks about right.
  22. There are probably worse ways of spending £995 even with 185k on the clock... https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/826596551686844
  23. Posted purely because I like the photo, an Austin 1100 for £50! https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1396950670802729
  24. Stand out from the crowd, or in with the hedge. Either way it's an MOTd car for £550... https://www.gumtree.com/p/vauxhall/vauxhall-tigra-hatchback-2000-auto-automatic-other-1389-cc-3-doors/1439827808
