I think there's only one more thing that this car needs, a full in depth review from Dollywobbler that gets posted to the front page of YouTube

Midnite I think you're confusing used with fucked.

People on here do buy some very well used cars but they tend not to buy utterly fucked ones and just expect them to work. Some do put more money in to them than they're worth but the answer to that is what's something worth and does it really matter.

This site is more about not chasing the higher spec cars as they tend to be the restored stuff you see at shows its more about the everyday survivors that get used and they tend to be the lower spec ones. They're also the ones that while once very common died off the fastest so when they come up for sale it's more significant.

This Sierra is very very rare no matter the condition. Would you be saying this is a shit heap if it was some over revered thing?

As a random bloke that doesn't really read about cars other than on here it's the only magazine I've bought on a whim in the past. Was OK to read but full of adverts but on the whole OK.

I had a look at this months due to someone mentioning the minder cars, but I put it back as the other articles were again messing with bmc stuff.

No offence if it's your thing but I'm sick to death of a classic car* only been seen as pre 65 and English, how many times can they go over the same ground

Flipping Bangers returns for season 2 tonight on Blaze at 9 pm. Will and Gus are utterly hilarious for the chod they buy. My favourite moment of theirs was the Alfa that collapsed on the car lift! It’s like Wheeler Dealers, but the cars are much more likely to be total no hopers. I believe they are kicking things off with an MGB which should see some exciting rust action.

Is this based on the DVLA data? That has been shown to be bollocks repeatedly sadly. One example I have found is that there is ony 1 205 GTi left on the road and even better there is a Volvo 740 convertible! So I would take all the numbers info with a pinch of salt.

I don't enjoy joining these types of discussions but this comment is so extreme I couldn't let it pass unchallenged. It is quite extraordinarily authoritarian and controlling. To anyone who places value in liberty, free thought and free expression it is difficult to hear. The culture of the UK, as in all countries is cyclical. Sadly we are entering a phase of increasing puritanism, only this time not rooted in religion, but manifested in a concerted attempt to heal the world of its 'ugly thoughts'. In the process, everything the self-appointed moral arbiter decrees as offensive is extinguished. I am deeply unhappy about this in life and on Autoshite: I can see it leads nowhere good.

FWIW, I don't hold you responsible for the manifestation of this new authoritarianism and controlling behaviour in Autoshite's moderation. I can see you agree with it, but I don't believe you are the prime mover behind it. I look elsewhere for that.

No doubt I will be flamed for this comment and I am fully expecting to be laughed at by people who have not understood me. But I feel it has to be said.

Yeah it's pretty much this. The finance company really don't care who owns the car now they, as normal, just want their money. The person that signed the agreement will get in the shit and the current owner can buy the car from the finance for X amount.

It's a bit shit to 'get charged twice' but really it comes down to 'you can't buy stolen property even if you didn't know as it's always stolen' type thing.

Hire companies ring for the same thing when a hire car, normally long term, hasn't been returned. They know the cars not actually stolen, they just want their money but there's no other way of doing it. You are technically permanently depriving someone of their property, which is theft.

No it goes back to whoever owns title to it, be it the previous owner or the finance company or whoever. If you buy a car and it turns out to be nicked then you’ve done your money.

Sorry but I haven't read all the thread. The letter is genuine. I've spoken to insurance companies about this kind of thing before and it's normally that the car has been sold with outstanding finance. As such it was never the owners* car to sell.
Nothing to worry about other than someone somewhere wants some money or the car.
