Tam got a reaction from CGSB in RAFFLE!!!! - 1992 'J' Rover 214Si - £550
Firstly I'd like to apologise to Billy who I had started negotiations with in the expectation of not winning. It is a bit of a shock and yes I really wanted the car and am a bit ecstatic at the moment. Just messaged John back and still haven't had time to look which part of the country I'm dealing with. Thanks to everyone for congratulations. Might not even have to sell me P6 now

Tam got a reaction from EssDeeWon in Tell me about.....Rover 75 dirty diesels
Had a 75 diesel tourer from 2008 till last year and now an ZT saloon. It's a great engine, pretty gutless in standard form and especially if the MAF is dodgy. My tourer was the 116 and going from an L series 45 to the 75 was a huge dissapointment power wise. Back then it was plug in tuning boxes that made a huge difference but now frowned upon and the T4 laptop guys can tranform the diesel and do a full engine check easily just by plugging in there kit.
Lots of info and help on owners sight and overall I would say for the money they are one of the comfiest cars you can buy.
Never driven an automatic so can't comment other than to say tax is expensive and mpg worse but no clutch to worry about.
My current ZT easily avhieves 50mpg but living in a rural location means suspension bushes are groaning a fair bit and probably the only real negative.

"A HORSE DID IT AND RAN AWAY, HONEST".
I do like the the fact that
That rounds it down a bit. Constable Smith, send all those green horses home. -

I've owned the grotty Rover for about 48 hours an already sourced every exterior part needed to make it look respectable within budget.

Tam reacted to cort16 in What grips your shit with cars?
this is a personal thing but I have measuring dyslexia. It doesn;t how matter how long I take or how many times I measure it I always fuck it up. I've ordered fridges that are too big for the hole so the kitchen needed cut back, cut shelves 6 inches too short. You name it I've fucked it up.
As a result if I'm making up panels for my rust repairs (see old fords above) it takes me fucking ages as they're either too big or too small or inside out. I made up adaptor for my new seats the other day. 8 bits of box section that needed to be 5 cm long. I cut it with a chop saw with carefully drawn on and measured lines yet they all came out different sizes!. I then needed to drill holes in them and the holes are different on everyone even though I pre drill pilot holes.
It burst my plums as I try so hard and it never pans out making me feel like a sausage fingered thicko I'm now banned from measuring stuff around the house because of past incidents. I had to fit a bit of wood to the wall for a baby gate the other day and the ends needed cut at a 40 degree angle. Not only was the angle wrong but it was 2 cm too short! I've now patched it up with an extra bit of wood and some filler but the brain power required to make up this section nearly made my hair ignite.

People on the hard shoulder with a flat tyre on their mobile phones.... ( especially men )
What sort of man can`t even change his tyre? I would be ashamed of myself

Hmm, tempting but I worry we're getting all raffled out now. Mind you, at least Scotland is easy to get from here, so maybe it is a good idea.
