Finished work yesterday at 3 and by 4,30 I'd given the new fleet addition a full service with oil/filters/brake fluid/coolant etc, the oil was like water and I don't think the car has been touched in 5 years if I'm honest, the pollen filter was the original 14 year old one and blocked solid, I also gave the A/C a topup , it wasn't fully empty just a little low on gas.
Today I spent all day (and I mean all day, started at 8am and just finished) redoing the underseal and rustproofing , it wasn't bad underneath but the subframes were a bit crusty, I also removed the silver paint off the rear spoiler (why?) with a bit of acetone and some furious rubbing, and painted the calipers silver as they had been done red by the muppet previous owner (along with half the wheels and the suspension), I also wet sanded the headlights as they were yellow, I should have taken some pics as the difference is staggering.

I'm knackered now, I'm getting too old for this, now I just have to clean it, which is going to take days, its in really good condition under all the dirt, I've ordered some new buttons for the AC controls, a gearshift gaiter, some new badges and some wipers, once they arrive I'll get them fitted then its good to go, then its decision time on the golf.

You really need to machine cut the paintwork back with a rotary or DA (recommended) polisher then polish wax and seal, I use meguiars ultimate compound, then the ultimate polish then either bilt hamber double action wax or meguiars ceramic wax to finish.
It takes a lot of effort but once done you can just give it a lazy 2 bucket wash once a fortnight to keep it looking good.

Once a fortnight is ludicrously hyperactive in my world, where twice in a year is considered keen.

    I bought this today

It needs de-barrying a little and the ecu sending off to noobtune but it's a solid old bus and it's a colour I've never seen before.

Loads wind me up, leapers on modern Jags, Chrome initials on the front wings or boot, chrome arch trims etc.
Its not just giffer mods that get my goat, there's the odd car on here that are stereotypical barry wagons, I'm sure the owners of the cars are lovely people but the cars are generic family wagons and look like a complete dogs dinner with headlight eyebrows, manufacturer sun strips, questionable vents, too many badges on every panel etc, its almost forgivable if the owners were 17 years old but they aint  They definitely qualify for the thread title.

That is probably the worst one I have ever seen, some are obviously a pisstake but that looks to me like it has one caring old giffer chavgramps, it's unbelievably bad in every way, you really have to question what goes through their minds and wonder if they stand back after applying the latest bit of tat and think 'yeah that looks perfect'
    Its mind boggling.

Thats it, had enough of the Street Triple now. Sadly, although the engine and chassis are superb, the riding ergonomics for me are crap. It gives me lots of discomfort after about 40 miles, which is hopeless as i hoped to use it for faster, longer runs in preference to the Himalayan.
Selling bikes here in Spain is a bit of an arseache too, so probably easier to trade it in at a dealers.
I have found a replacement long distance tourer here, but the seller isn't back here from the UK until 24th. Absolute bargain as he is asking UK price and not Spanish price. Not the most exciting of bikes, but gives me the option of looking for something like a CBR 600 for the bendy tarmac roads and also a few trackdays when travel restrictions here are relaxed.
