1993 ZZR600, any thoughts on these from anyone with experience/anecdotes? Thanks in advance..
Assume everything will be absolutely knackered, my 94 one was ropy 20 years ago, they don't age well, good bikes though, mine was black and pink.
I wouldn't be swapping a CBF600 for one though.

Trying to cancel a sim card from voxi that I setup for my sister to use whilst she was here for a few months.
You would think it would be easy to cancel it. But I cannot log into the account as it insists on a one time password sent by text. I don't have the sim. You cannot reset the account without sending a one time password by text. There is no email or memorable answer alternative.
The online chat is a bag of fucking wank. I'm now on their alternative contact (social media) and I've been waiting since yesterday afternoon for someone to message me back on Facebook because perish the thought they have an actual fucking last resort phone number you can call to speak to a fucking human.
Online chat, Facebook or Twitter are the options (Musk and Zucker fans only please, get fucked if you don't subscribe to fake news)
Normally in such circumstances I would just cancel the direct debit and ignore the threats, but they have my credit card details not direct debit details. What a palava.
Tell your CC company your card is lost, get another card which will have a different number/expiry, if its just a rolling contract (as I'm sure they all are) it should expire naturally if not paid.

Like fuck would I send anything of value by evri. He was told.
I hope he does me a favour and fucks off.

Madam rang up her mum earlier whinging that the EML on the Corsa has come on, she reckons it isn't fair that the seller won't repair it. Private sale so sold as seen, no comeback whatsoever.
It was probably present 5 minutes before the car was collected and cleared :😀

It's lovely, and 5 mins for me, I didn't think it was possible to drive for 8.5 hours in this country 😅
Although saying that it took 3 hours to do 70 miles last Saturday.

Is the tank plastic on these? The tanks on my 955 Daytona and Street Triple had begun to swell a bit due to ethanol content in fuel.
Take the tank off and check the plastic pipes going to the IACV, they split and cause poor running, be careful of the fuel pipe connectors though.
Tuneecu and an elm327 dongle will allow you to read fault codes and even remap it if you want.
Nothing wrong with that front end to me, it will be miles better than standard.
Good buy, I have had multiple triumph triples.

I've just put a set of these on the missus's RCZ after some cunt slashed her tyres for having the temerity to park outside their house on a public road for a week.
They seem ok to be honest, not as good as cross climates obviously but 450 quid cheaper.

I occasionally help my wife's pal with her car as she's good to our son at Christmas and Birthdays.
She's got a BMW F20 1 series. A while back I came out in the pissing rain as her boot wouldnt close. I got it permanently closed and said she will need to take it to BMW to find out what's up with it.
Ages ago I bought a new exhaust clamp and headlight levelling arm. As its a fairly new car I bought BMW bits which came to £40.
Yesterday she brought it round as agreed. My wife got the kettle on for a catch up with her.
The first problem was she couldn't find rhe locking wheel nut key. It was probably in the boot but as that was still not fixed I couldn't get to the stowage underneath. So I had to work with the wheel in the way, in a stupidly contorted position. I got the old levelling arm off OK but simply could not get the stupid clamp on the new one to fasten around the lower arm. 2 hours I tried with every tool in the garage. I was nearly there but then she had to go as she had brought her 4 year old niece with her who was getting restless. So the car left minus the levelling arm (which was so badly seized it was better not being there), the parts in the footwell, not even a 'thanks for trying' and no payment for the parts which came to £40.
I am done helping people.
Yeah fuck that I don't do anything now for anyone other than wife and daughters, oh and my neighbour who paid me 50 quid to change the battery in her i10 and wouldn't let me do it for free so she is in credit.

Ecu testing will rebuild your abs pump for 250 quid, I have had a couple of peugeot/citroen ones done, they aren't particularly difficult to do and bleed if you have diagnostics.
Edit didn't see above post

Get a modern with a small turbo'd petrol engine if you want cheap tax and good economy, or a hybrid Toyota or Lexus if you are worried about reliability.
Or buy a diesel and have the £2k you save in fuel as a contingency, they aren't all unreliable.
I couldn't stomach 700 quid a year for an old bus like a legacy if I'm being honest but if your budget doesn't stretch to an efficient modern then I can see why you stick with it.
I get the equivalent of around 80mpg using my Volt with a mixture of petrol and electric, its free to tax and is still a decent sized car and not some econobox, I also got sick of paying high tax and getting low mpgs in older larger engined cars.

Yet they’ll complain bitterly when it shits itself after their dad sticks the wrong oil in it or it misses a series of services.
I wouldn't know I always block them as they pull off the drive

Why don’t trade adverts include anything about maintenance that’s been done, it’ll include loads of bumf about how quick it will get to sixty, that it has a five speed gearbox and it does 50mpg but fuck all about it having had the belt/clutch/whatever done. I’m assuming it’s because such matters are completely unimportant on a used car.
Yup no-one gives a fuck apart from us folk, not once has anyone asked me about history and maintenance when I've sold dozens of shitters through FB and Gumtree.

Can only speak from my experience of course. That experience has taught me to hate abs as i've only had this issue with bikes with it. The technical side of my hatred is the extra complexity mainly though also added weight. It's probably air in the system to be fair. The system will be simple when i've binned it off. Horses for causes i guess. Horses that kick me twice get shot haha.
You'd better check you don't invalidate your insurance policy if you remove it, it'd be a major pisser if you grabbed the front brake, locked the wheel and mowed down a load of pensioners waiting at a bus stop, to find out you'd voided your policy by removing it.

ABS is great (on the road), I've never had an issue with it on any modern bike, tbf your 1100 BMW is a very early system and I'd imagine the system on the RE to be as basic as it gets and built to a very low price, the cornering abs on my Z1000SX was amazing and allowed me to hit the brakes at a substantial lean angle in the wet and not fall off, not that I intentionally tried to test it of course.
Some modern bikes allow you to turn the rear abs for off road riding.

Just remember its 30 years old, its likely that every single rubber component is going to need replacing, the emulsion tubes in the carbs are probably worn oval, wiring looms are going to be crusty, the plastics are incredibly brittle, exhausts are likely to be paper thin, radiators failing, inside the petrol tank is likely to be corroded etc etc, if its a bike you want to use every day be very careful, if its something to polish and use occasionally then maybe, but you could get a decent late 2000's VFR800, CBF1000 or Fazer 1000 for a couple of grand which are better in every single way.
Obviously if its a mint low owner garaged bike then it should be considered, but it's 30 years old still.
