There's no way anything that shit was done in a weekend. There would have been multiple meetings before a project manager was tasked with pulling 56 different work package together. Unfortunately these 56 design teams probably didn't like each other, so did what the fuck they wanted. Eventually the Project manager were given an ultimatum. Show something by Monday or your sacked. The result is a bloody miracle concocted by 5 first year apprentices on weekend overtime.
All probably went on to long careers in Foden.

Strangely I didn't take a picture of it, thinking that I'd want to prove it existed to some random expert on the Internet* some 30 plus years
*which had barely been conceived at the point that I was towed by disputed 3 door sierra.
It was definately a 3 door. It was definately beige, it definately had a mocha dash board, it was definately an auto. It definately was not a base model as it had stuff that my dad's base estate never had. Like front head rests and rear seat belts and a radio.
The owner told me it was a 1.3 and it definately had ghia badges. So was it a bitsa?

I was stopped by plain clothes police drugs squad officers for overtaking them down the Dock Road in Liverpool. It was a week after I passed my driving test. In my dad's dangly mirror beige base 1.6 estate. Probably doing 80 mph in what is Now a 30. I think it was a 60 in those days. Got a bit of advice at the side of the road.
Not taking the advice I spun that car on the coast road at Southport about 6 months later. No visible damage. 🤔
A few years later I got his Sapphire 1.8LX up to an indicated 136 on a German Autobahn at 2 am heading for Stuttgart. He was asleep. When he woke up he was complaining about how much fuel I'd used.
He took me off the insurance when I got his 2.0 16V ghia estate sideways on a motorway roundabout in the dry. Probably shouldn't have done it with him in the passenger seat. 30 years later he still won't put me on his insurance.

I want to see a picture of her lying on the floor, with a torch, looking for evidence of rust repair or evidence that it's not been through a chop shop and is in fact parts from 3 cars.
This is Autoshite and I'm expecting a change of clothing on route into dungarees.

New POD got a reaction from loserone in Wtf is going on with car insurance prices?
The thing is with pets, they don't have the same calculation of total loss as on a car.
If your overly interbred cavalier King Charles spaniel cost you £700 from a dodgy back street dealer, and it has an accident, where the cost of new legs is £800, they don't say "nah, it's a write off. You can buy a second hand one the same age for £400, so after we've taken off your excess, here's £200. Now fuck off"
Plus, they have wearout similar to a badly maintained prince engine in a mini. Or a k series. So it's like you are asking them to insure the camchain and the head gasket, when we know that at 8 years, there will be signs of heart failure.

New POD got a reaction from Burnside in If you had 40k for a brand new car.
In 1995, a 3.0 V6 omega or 2.5 TD (BMW engine) would fit the bill.
Fuck knows today. Can you get a new car for £40k. Isn't a fiesta about £50k these days, or £350 a month ?
