  1. Daughter lives in that there Manchester. Yesterday it snowed. The view from.her balcony And the snowman she made.
  2. According to my guru this morning, its probably a 1970s Leyland designed chassis, and they are chucking a different cab on it. To be fair, the Daf LF made at Leyland has cabs we buy from Renault. It comes fully trimmed to our spec. And it's bolted to hinges on the chassis.
  3. I shall ask the question at work of those that might know. There are people with 50 years service starting when it was the plughole of doom. (Some call it the arsehole of doom)
  4. I'd be telling him that the best MGs were built in longbridge and had a 1275 cc A series engine with a Turbo and had red seat belts. Let him see if he knows the MG range....... Anyone know ?
  5. There's no way the front wings are original.
  6. Competing with Bootle's biggest bison to get prime position on the Dock Road.
  7. Yes. We don't like shit American cars, assembled by delusional red necks. Under engineered low quality, poor reliability, bad economy, hateful ergonomics. Or that's what we assume.
  8. If it's a garrett VNT, and you could get it on a bench, I could probably disassemble and reassemble the vane sub assy in about 4 mins with my eyes closed. Cleaning it with Mr muscle should work. It's only baked on carbon probably
  9. I imagined you were closer to 27. You should try an MX5
  10. Years ago, I had an interview for a company that made ship engines. they took me around the factory. The size of the lathe they were using for machining a piston was as big as a house.
  11. Car you'd least like to take home/on a long trip/to an MOT. Car which would be least appropriate to take grieving family to a funeral. Car which you'd most like to borrow for a week.
  12. Wouldn't cover the stamp for the whiplash claims.
  13. My driving instructor had a datsun sunny, and my parents had a dangley mirror base sierrra estate in beige. Which was the car I took both my tests in. Reversing around corners was easy, as the thing had no overhang, and lots of glass.
  14. I bet at some stage DVLA orwhoecer runs driving tests will decide they have a duty of care to examiners, and demand tests can oy be taken with an NCAP rating of 15.
  15. Sitting next to someone on a bus, who has been working on a construction site all day. Putting drawing pins onto walls of school buildings. It's all pretty shit. Even one stray fibre could be enough. (Although the greater the exposure the more likely)
  16. The price of a can of fix it
  17. The price of a can of fix it
  18. Because...don't know...but.....he didn't sell boots....😁
  19. When my dad had a company car working for the NHS, it was insured by the crown. ie they didn't actually have insurance, because the Queen would pay up.
  20. As I'm awake and coughing my lungs up, might I be allowed to be a pedant. It's a Pharmacist. Not a chemist. The difference is significant. Daughter is the former, and son formerly was the later (and now is a chartered financial auditor), and have both previously pulled me up on this common error.
  21. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=10&t=2022183 Are you sure?. AxA are bastards. Allegedly
  22. People who buy TPFT statistically carry more risk. Given the cost of writing off a £1000 car that you own is insignificant compared to potential costs if you hit another vehicle. Hire cars, and whiplash and genuine parts, could run into the ££££££s. And statistically people who buy it are more likely to crash. I'm sure there's a rational causation to match the correlation. I've found that if I put a value less than £2k, the price goes up compared to if I say the value is £3.5k Again, I think there's something in the statistics that shows owners of cheap cars are more likely to crash. There was a point where the price didn't go down with fewer miles. Maybe if you only do 3000 miles a year you are seen as less competent compared to someone doing 6000. ? Since the kids grew up, and left home and I can't tick the box of dependent children. The price has gone up. Maybe people with kids are more careful?
