A damp miserable day but at least it's been productive, I have two large boxes of parts and other bits but will be back tomorrow for more parts from this terminally rusty series 3, the heater box came out okay but I had to evict a lot of spiders and the resident mouse's nut collection
The floor on the left-hand side is a little frilly
But I'm up 19p so far and I found some retro entertainment to
the view out of the back window with added ventilation
that's all for today, more tomorrow

I'm afraid they are bonded sierraman,
The Sierra was one of the first Ford's  in the UK to get bonded glass, front, rear and 1/4 glasses,
if you go down the second hand route it has to be from a Mk1 Sierra as the Mk2 is different,
    Glass code Mk1 HT 800                                              Mk2 HT 924
The most annoying part will be the outer two part trim, the chrome insert becomes very brittle and is not available anymore,  I would think even old new stock would have issues due to age, only fitted to the Mk1's as the Mk2 had a solid all black rubber trim,  I would see if you can buy a one peice trim before the screen is replaced, also worth noting is the inner rear screen trim will most likely split a lot when trying to remove (age) so get one of those too,  maybe explain this to whomever you get to do the work, although unless you find a sympathetic company they will probably think you are nuts "It's just an old Sierra"
I worked at a lovely Windscreens company out in the countryside many moons ago, the yard was covered in pea shingle, I learnt that pea shingle was the best thing ever to break toughened glass,  we would often end up with second hand glass that was no good, so off into the skip gently pick up a couple of bits of pea shingle and bang the window was gone, just alot of worthless diamonds lol,
Accidents happen,  I'm sure the insurance will be fine to cover it as it was an accident

For some reason people with red vehicles seem to like driving into the Lupo when it's parked

Luckily the paint seems to be quite tough and a bit of effort gets the marks off

It started a few weeks ago when one of the neighbours somehow left a mark on top of the rear bumper, not sure who as there are three red cars close by.
The front bumper happened at Tesco, and we think was done by a mini digger being used during works in the car park - it was noticeable by its absence when we tried to find it and look for incriminating marks

A very strong mix of APC, and a brush later.

Hand brake area now much better

    Rear quarter upper panels 50/50.

Carpet was taken outside soaked in a harsh mix of APC, scrubbed with a stiff brush , rinsed, scrubbed, rinsed again, and left to dry. And will recieve another going over before install
The rear footwell was indeed grim.

Rear panels done and looking much brighter inside. Headliner was also fully cleaned (as much as i could) with an APC soaked cloth.

With the rear footwell looking like this i felt the only option was the more harsh approach.

Ive found 5 lighters so far and one menthol ciggy. Ive no idea what that goop is that its stuck too. I dont want to know either.

    Hmmmmm

With the interior now out smell has reduced but its still there. Time for some scrubbing.

We have both arrived safely back to Rusty tower's with the Volvo from @Matts_Rusty_Bus, the C70 ran faultlessly the 100 odd miles doing what Volvo's do best, no Pez shot I'm afraid as we were in a hurry to get back home, the M25 was okay for the M25 but mostly moving, round near the Watford side we came across a Bini in lane 3 that had buried itself into the back of another car and had no lights on ! That was a slightly hairy moment with cars ahead darting left and right but we both got through unscathed,  My A3 did 223 miles today, average on board M,P,G on the way back was a stunning 32 mpg,  The C70 did 108 miles, on board mpg 29.2, both driving at 60 mph,  how accurate are these on board computers ?
    Poo count still 0
    Rest breaks 2
    Hairy moments only 1 thankfully
Thanks for all your help today@Matts_Rusty_Bus

BTW for those wondering this is a Carters Model E or Model F (Depending on if its 24V or 36V)
just figured id mention that as @dollywobbler called it a Harding in his video!
I can understand getting these early invalid carriages mixed up, they all do look pretty similar, but the Carter is one of the few that are very distinct  (with their small front wheel and long spindly control tiller)
the Carter was also notable for being the first successful electric powered invalid carriages of its day when the Model A was introduced back in 1915! and they where for a long time the Invalid carriage to have if you where the posh old money sort, to the point that King Gorge VI even had one!

for comparisons sake here is a Harding Deluxe  note how the harding looks much more like your typical old 1930s-1950's invalid carriage (because it is one!)

I don't usually do car park spots at this show. This, however, was notable:

Just cos it's fast, doesn't mean it isn't shite...

And finally... a couple from the Meguiars stand. For such a prestigious stand, it yielded a couple of surprises - for example, this Marina...

And even more surpsingly, a dusky rose pink Y reg Corsa!

And frankly, I can't think of a better note to end on. Hopefully you found something in here you enjoyed!

Just spent the last 3 days at the NEC Classic car show, helping run one of the stands. Had an opportunity to have a good nose about, loads to see and a great variety as usual. Entry and parking prices were... let's be diplomatic and say 'a bit spicy'. Fortunately I had exhibitor passes! Visitor numbers seemed down compared to usual, presumably due to continuing anxiety over that there virus, which is fair enough.
So, for the benefit of anyone who didn't want to go or couldn't be there for whatever reason, here's some pics. I've largely ignored the big-ticket stuff and tried to photograph things more suited to this parish. That's not to say all these cars are shite of course!
Anyway, enough preamble - pictures ahoy!

I had a raincoat with one of these on. It was a Fleetwood Mac...

I bought a new project today.

The world's greenest Fiesta van... Its in fact a 2011 1.6TDCi Econetic Van, apparently. My neighbour bought it about 5 years ago for talking his dog out in but never ended up using it much and when the screen broke and mot lapest it just ended up as a tool for moving logs around his garden before being laid up for the last year or more on the drive.
I was chatting to him this afternoon and asked what his plans were for it, probably scrap it but I haven't a clue, he said, would I be interested in it? Hell yeah! 😂 £600 was handed over, got it jumped started of my car and drive it back round mine.

    It is absolutely mingling!

If you think that's bad the boot was growing its own ecosystem!

As the misses was out I took the opportunity to get straight to work in the boot, a full black bin of wood and bark came out including even a sleeping Carpenter bee!

Whicha after about 3 hours looked like this again.

So as you can see LOADS of cleaning to do but I'm quite excited to do that, I reckon under the muck is a really tidy van, even the back looks like it's had a easy life considering its 134000 miles.
Mechanically it needs a battery, bonnet pull, a couple of tyres and possibly a ball joint and definitely a good service and windscreen but not much really.
